From the answers I previously received, I sadly understand that my color choices may be too contrasting for a wedding. What if I paired a lt. blue w/a darker purple or maroon?

Something like this is much more toned down than aqua, but still has the contrast I like. Still tacky or a little better?

Even if I don't agree, I appreciate all the honest answers =) Thanks.

On the Davids Bridal web site you can mix and match separates and sashes in different colors, this may help you find your perfect match! I paired the mystic purple (dark misty purple) with the tropic sash (bright aqua) and it didn't look too bad. If you like it go for it!

I read both your questions and I slightly disagree about the aqua & maroon. I think you could use both colors or the color above, as long as you encorporate some softer colors, too. I do think that the Alfred Angelo color would be slightly easier to work with and lend itself more to reception decor.

Is it the aqua, the maroon, or simply the contrast that you like?

See the attached links (sorry, I think they make you register for the site). The first is a mostly white bouquet with touches of maroon and would look beautiful with the Alfred Angelo color. The second is more of a deep pink but close.

ps: from your first question, the blue lights & blue tuille at the reception scare me a little. Maybe it is softer than you are describing, but it sounds a little garish.

I think that if your heart is set on blue and maroon that you will need to go with a light powder blue that is more gray in tone than aqua. The dark purple would definitely be better with than the maroon. A light blue, dark purple and ivory would work. The color of these dresses would be great with dark purple.

I'm playing with the David's Bridal mix and match separates and I suggest trying that. The colors don't look suited to me but there may be a look you are going for that I'm not catching. A blue and gold would be great to me but for paler colors I tend to like complimentary soft shades instead of really hard contrasting colors.

Blue and dark purple would be gorgeous. You could go with beautiful grape hyacinths and hydrangeas and rich purple tulips.

I am going with a sky blue shade with platinum silver and pink flowers. I think blue is very soothing, and for your case, the purple will be very romantic and decadent. :)

Hey sounds nice. Even though my sister is having her wedding dress...black with neon green. The groom is wearing a neon green tux, and the bridesmaids are wearing super short neon green with black dresses and above the knee black and white stockings with dr. martins or converse!
