My mother in law is my minister and she is letting me have some say in what is said at the ceremony. I am looking for an alternative to "Who gives this woman away?". My dad has said that he refuses to "give me away". So what else can be said that somewhat implies that without actually saying it??

Why look for substitutes and euphenisms instead of simply omitting the offensive "give away" and"obey" parts entirely? Have your dad walk you to the alter, perhaps give you a kiss on the forehead, and take a seat. Even people who know nothing about your family will assume that this is your father, or a father like figure such as a step-dad, uncle, or family friend. After the wedding, when they go through the receiving line, the relationship will become obvious.

I am having all out parents jointly give us away as I don't believe in the old fashioned thing of the dad giving the bride away. This way all our parents get to be involved and feel special. Like the celebrant will say "who gives this couple to each other?" and the parents all say 'we do'. Or "who presennts this couple to be married" with the same parental response.

I agree with your dad, he doesn't own you and he is not giving you to anyone, you will still be his girl too. I am undecided what we are going to do for that part, I think we may do something like when they ask who gives this woman to this man I will say I do, because I am the one giving of myself.

Or better yet, skip this part totally. Just have dad lift your veil and give you a kiss, before he returns to his seat.

Is it mandatory? How about skipping that part altogether?
If something must be said, could it be a question of support?
For instance, "Parents, do you support the union of your daughter and this man? If so answer we do"

A lot of preachers just ask, "Who gives this woman?" and the father replies, "Her mother and I do." If he still objects to that, have it changed to "Who presents this woman?"

Nothing needs to be said. Just start the "we are gathered here today" part after you get to the groom.
