So my parents have their 20th wedding anniversery coming up and I really want to do something special for them. But I'm completel stumped for ideas. The problem is I can't think of anything material that they would really like. Ideally I want to do something like pay to have them go away to a spa, or fly to greece or surprise them with a nice meal. The only problem there is that I'm a thouroughly broke University student, so money is a bit of an issue, and anyway its never a guarantee that they would both not be working on their anniversery, and would be willing/able to take the time off for a trip. If I were home I could do the whole thing of cooking them a really nice meal or something but I will be away at Uni when their real anniversary rolls around so no dice there. And I would fall back on the recourse of making them something but that stops being cute after about 13.
Anyway, if anyone has any ideas at all, please share them, it's much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We have been friends since Yr 5 or from age 11, and she is marrying someone from the UK but getting married in Australia she said she will include the UK people as a compromise to having the wedding here. So next year will be our 20yr "anniversary"

I was out shopping and came upon a wedding dress blow out clearance. I found the most gorgeous Vera Wang wedding dress ( it's a bit big, but still perfect) for $50 so I bought it. At the moment I don't even have a boyfriend but I hope to get married someday.
I think I made a smart purchase.
What do you think?
Has anyone else done this?

Recently my fiance and I have been having a lot of problems and I don't feel like I want to be with him anymore, so I met and am dating someone else who I do love and I feel like this could actually last, now I haven't told my fiance yet but I already know how I am going to go about that its just I don't know how to tell my family especially since the wedding would have been in three weeks, the reason it is so hard is because a family member bought me the dress I was supposed to wear and I dont think that that person would care if I didnt want to get married anymore they would just be pissed that they bought the dress(of their own will I did not ask for that) and now I am not getting married.. so how do I tell my family?

when my fiance asked me to marry him, he had already chosen my engagement and wedding rings.
we went and "visited" the wedding band each week in the store and i showed all my friends.
when crunch time came the jeweler confided in us that that sort of wedding band is the highest repair rate out of all wedding bands as it isn't actually designed for everyday use. the diamonds keep falling out.
they repair this type of ring all the time, some are bought locally others from other states, but all of that type of ring are suspect to the diamonds fallingout.
we decided not take the risk and we chose another gorgeous ring which i love.
i told my friend (who is also engaged) all about this.
today she called me up, she has just bought the exact wedding ring.

would it bother you if your friend bought the same ring you had previously had in mind?

btw i don't want that ring, i am happy with mine. but i feel kinda like she's copied me.. & hasn't taken my advice about the diamonds ..?

I had a beatuiful wedding and it was a great day and it was a sacred day and a wonderful celebration exspeically the honeymoon:) when you are at church what is a proper but loving kiss to give to your beloved.

My husband and I never made out or kissed for a very long time in our coursthip so when we were pronounced husband and wife we kissed with fire and passion but we did not french kiss because our mom asked us not to.

But looking back I would have done our kiss more differently maybe deep and long but without all the drama, What would be a speical kiss to give your groom when you are pronounced husband and wife?

I am getting married next year, but my fiance and I have been living together for almost 2 years now. I personally think that living together first is a great idea because then you can REALLY get to know the person before you commit for life. I was raised in a Christian home and I have had many people tell me that I should not wear white at my wedding because I am not a virgin and we have been living together. I will still be wearing white because it's my wedding and I do what I want, but I just wanted to get some other opinions. =)

Okay, well this may sound like a crazy question but here it goes...

If someone asks you to marry them, and they give you the engagement ring and everything... do you use it for the wedding ring or what? Or do you buy a wedding ring set and use 1/2 for the engagement and the other 1/2 for the wedding?

I do professional party design. I've been working on a wedding recently and it's driving me nuts. It's not that she's a bridezilla (she is but if you can't deal with them stay out of the wedding business) but that her decor choices are horrible. I deal with people all the time that have diff. tastes than me and I'm good with it.

In her case it is compeltely 80s, the colors are bad, and it will all look cheap even though its costing thousands. She refuses to listen to my advice even though that's what she's paying me for! Even her family and bridal party has tried to talk her out of them. Its her wedding and she can do what she wants but I don't want my name on it unless she makes a few improvements. It looks really bad on my business but I don't want to seem like I'm quitting because she doesn't do everything I say or have her trash talk me because that would hurt too.

Just wondering what everyone thinks about wearing your engagement ring plus wedding band after you're married? Do you think you should just wear the wedding band or both? I am thinking of just the band and on special occasions to wear both rings. What are everyones else's plans or what does everyone else think? Just wondering :)

Also, do you save $$ for weddings that you will be attending or just put everything on charge?

My best friend, also my maid of honor, has a tasteless SKULL tattoo on her left shoulder. She's getting mad at me because I either want it covered up with dermablend or with a long sleeve dress. I don't want a skull tattoo in my wedding pictures that are going to last a lifetime. What to do... ?

Would you pay for an elaborate wedding if you didn't like your future son-in-law or believed the marriage would last? Has anyone come across this problem in their own family and if so, how did you handle it? Although I love my daughter very much, I cannot support her wish to provide an expensive wedding production for up to 250 people. This guy is a possessive, materialistic narcissist, who will step all over her once the ring is on the finger...and she just doesn't get it. I know it will be a matter of time, but it probably won't hit her until she's mature enough to say Enough is Enough (she's 23). Don't get me wrong, I will commit to some money, but I'll be darned if it's going to be a production show.....
