alter the dress in case I decide to get married again? It's an off the shoulder with a catherdral length train and very detailed. I never had it preserved and really don't know what to do with it. It's taking up space in my closet and have no room for other clothes or shoes. I really love the dress, and I wanted to have the dress colored with a light pink or light blue and have tiny flowers attached to it. The sleeves I never liked because of the buttons and I had planned on removing them and altering the sleeves a bit without the buttons. I like the open cut sleeve type thing. I wanted to make the train shorter and I like the fluffiness of the dress. The train has grass stains on it and I haven't had it dry cleaned since I wore it on my wedding day. What should I do? What would you do? Please help me! Should I sell it, give it away, donate it or what?

I really love this dress. However, I'm only 5'3. Do you think this dress will make me look to short, stout?

2nd Question: Have any Maggie Sottero Brides worn this dress? How tall are you? Do you have any pics of how the dress looked in person?

We're having our reception at a country club and it really can't be beat for price. We're paying no facility charge, and only per meal, the max being 29/person if we chose filet minion.

However, when I went in today to pay the downpayment, he talked about some of the other costs. For instance, if I want the napkins folded any way other than standard folded in a rectangle, I have to pay 1 dollar per napkin "because it takes a lot of time and is tedious"

Is this normal? They also wanted to charge me 5 dollars per chair if I wanted chair covers. They told me I can decorate however I want and come in anytime that day (or my family) to do so, so I'm thinking of just renting the damn linens myself and folding the napkins and covering the chairs for much, much less.

Another hidden charge: 1 dollar per person to cut and serve the cake. That might be normal though.

So, funny story. My fiance proposed to me on March 4th, when we were vacationing in Edinburgh, Scotland. I took some antibiotics before we left, which renders birth control useless (something I did not know). So, I literally got pregnant the day he asked me to marry him. We came back and started planning the wedding and everything was going great until suddenly I was three weeks late and throwing up everything I'd eaten since the age of ten.

The problem is: his mother is very, very conservative. She told me in a very no-nonsense way that I was to return my beautiful white dress for a cream or ivory one because I was pregnant. I obviously don't want to do this.

What would you do?

My mom met this really nice man about 4 months ago. They are going to get married soon. I am thinking about adopting him as a dad. My bilogical father is still alive and comes in and out of the picture. I am planning on getting married next year. Would it be acceptable to have him walk me down the aisle instead of my real father?

I think that is just plain rude and inconsiderated. I was at his house today and on the counter was the return envelope RSVP for a wedding and reception. He says he told them, so he does not have to return it. I am ashamed and embarrased because I am not sure whether they know I am coming or not. Should I bow out and just forget the whole wedding and reception or how do I take care of this? He is my significant other and his brothers daughter is getting married. The RSVP was to be returned by June 6, and the wedding is next Saturday.

No courthouse. No Vegas. I wanted to have the ceremony at a church. Our guest list is around 100 people. We don't need anything spectacular, just a simple ceremony with the people we know.

My friend is getting married in 3 weeks. I planned a dinner for her with a little group of friends to get together before her big day. (Please keep in mind, we are not too thrilled about her decision to marry her fiance-he's cheated on her numerous times.) She recently sent out announcements to some, but not all, of us. Needless to say, those who didn't receive an announcement, understandably, no longer want to attend dinner. I'm stuck...I feel like the middle man once again. Please help.

My fiancee and I have just started to look at invitations for our wedding. We don't want to spend too much money on them because of the fact that 1. they ar ejust paper and 2. most people will just toss them in the garbage after the fact. So the new trend in invitattions are seal and sends and they are affordable. However, the idea of this invite is the guests fill out the reply card which they then rip off and send it like a postcard. Does this seem to exposing?? I love the idea but don't want my guests getting upset at the fact that the reply is out in the open. Help!

I have a friend who was married last summer is already going through a divorce. I'm getting married in Sept. and would like to include her in my wedding, even though I wasn't in hers. I'd like her to do a reading. Even though it isn't the role of a bridesmaid, is it tacky for me to ask her to be in my wedding while she's going through so much right now??? Any advice/opinions would be greatly appreciated!!

Who should walk me down the isle? I'm not very close to my mother either. Should I walk down alone? What about the father/daughter dance and all that? I want my fiancee to have a mother/son dance because they are close, but will it be really uncomfortable for me to not have the same kind of thing? Has anyone else had this situation?

If the ring you love is far too expensive for your significant other to afford? Would you be willing to lower your standards or wait until he could save enough money to buy your dream ring?

My fiance wants to have a HUGE wedding, around 300 people, but I want to have a smaller wedding, around 150 people. She has a really large family and mine is quite small. What should we do in terms of wedding size? I know she has her heart set on a big wedding, but I just don't want all the attention.
