He will be 15 months when we get married.... too young to say his own vows or really understand. We want to include him when saying our vows to each other and I cant seem to come up with the right words to use.... Any suggestions would be great!!!

He will be standing up there with us. We are having a close family friend marry us (you can go to the county clerks office and become a commisioner for a day). He is so young we arent even having him be the ring bearer and want him up with us.

I would say something like, "I pledge my life to you and to the son we share, who has brought us so much joy, strengthened our love, and shown us the best qualities in each other. Today we complete our family." How does that sound? Too cheesy. I don't know, I was just thinking about children and how they really do bring out the best in ppl and though at times they test our relationship, they also bring it a new meaning. You truly will be completely your family circle when you get married. Let me know what you think.

One other option to include him is to have a special dedication to your child. There is something called a family medallion ceremony

Read about it there. It basically uses the wedding ceremony to also dedicate your family.

I read a great idea not too long ago, for incorporating kids into a wedding, especially if they're young, or step-children. Have someone in the back hold a balloon for each person, at the end of the ceramony, the bride and groom, and kids walk down the ailse together, get the balloons, and release them all together. He'll think it's great!

Would he be old enough to pour sand into a container? Evena widemouth one would work. The sand ceremony is great for couples with kids who want to show the joining of the whole family and not just the couple.

What about when your HTB puts the wedding band on your finger he can slip a pacifier around the baby's neck or tie a ribbon on his wrist and just say vows about being his daddy to him.

Just include some sort of a pledge in your vows to be the best parents you can be.
Or just say sorry you made a mistake that you didn't get married before he was born... whatever suits......

The reward of your love... I don't know, maybe just have him up there with you?
