I am getting ready to start planning my wedding....any good ideas?

First, buy a wedding planner book from the bookstore. (one you can write in) It will help you think of all those little details you need. Next, get with you mom, future mom-in-law, sister (ppl you know will be involved in it) and start brainstorming ideas and to-do list. Next, sit down with your fiance and decide you wedding party. You have to ask really far in advance so that ppl have time to ask off, plan, save up money for dresses, tux, etc. That's is only fair and proper etiquette. Next, starting thinking of ideas and colors for a wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses. Then go start trying stuff on. It take SOOOOO long to get this stuff in and if you wait too long, you could have problems and stress. (trust me I know) Remember all these dresses have to be ordered, made from the same fabric batch (bridesmaid dresses, for color sake. Different batches of fabric can slightly vary in color (due to shelf time, etc.) If you order from a regular bridal store, they will tell you all this. They want it all from the same batch. Then they have to be shipped to you, then they have to have at least 2-4 weeks for altering.
After you do this, you will get on a roll and you will have your family, bridal party to help. Good Luck!

A friend of mine and I run a wedding planning business, and there are lots and lots of ideas out there, but if you do not have the time to do it, hire a planner. It can save you so much stress through your engagement. It takes out a lot of the stress, leaving you with a well thoughtout planned wedding that will allow you to enjoy every minute of the day. You are nervous enough on your wedding day, let a planner help you with the wedding. They can add details to make your day extra special.

1st thing is to set a budget. Then guest list, date and location. Then you can look for photographer, flowers, ...
At the book store there were wedding magazines that had local advertising into it. You never know who will be helpful. The clergy person recommended the DJ who we loved.
A wedding dress may cost you $100 to $10,000+. Wedding can be inexpensive or elaborate.
My wife and I planned the wedding ourselves. I even helped her find a wedding dress. Yes, I know it supposed to be bad luck.

Go to a magazine store. There must be 50 or more different types of Wedding magazines that have thousands of suggestions, planners, etc...
