I have been looking at different recpetion sites and the majority of them are about 25-30 minutes away from the church witht he excpetion of a few places right in my city that are extremely expensive in price. My mom keeps telling me a half hour is too far away and that this one place is on a hill and that's a bad idea in February since the wedding is in Massachusetts. Do you think a half hour is too far to drive for a reception? Would it make a difference if i forewarned everyone on theinvite that the recption would be a half hour drive? That would allow them to choose weather or not they wanted to attend just the ceremony. Shouldn't I be able to get what I want since it's my wedding and my request isn't crazy?

Or girls, how would you want your boyfriend to propose to you?

Okay, I may lack in confidence in approaching girls to ask them out at the moment but as an Everton fan, as a dream proposal for me, we'd both go to a game like Everton v Man United/Arsenal/Liverpool and vitness a good Everton victory.

Then after the game, we'd head to the centre circle of the Goodison Park pitch and the Everton players along with David Moyes, Everton legends such as Graeme Sharp, David Unsworth, Martin Keown and Duncan Ferguson would come out with the ring and the opposition players would come along with their manager. If she said 'yes', we'd celebrate by having dinner and champagne with the Everton players, manager and legends along with the players and manager from the opposition that day.

What is everyone else's dream wedding proposal?

Hi everyone!

There is this woman at my workplace, who claims she can sing and has a myspace promoting her music.

I announced to everyone at work that I was getting wed next year and she said, 'Do you want me to sing at your wedding?' She is not mention anything about prices.

Then I mentioned what songs I want played at the wedding, then she said again.. 'Are you gonna pay me'

I have not even invited her, she has it in her head that she is coming automatically!

If she does come, I wonder how she would feel if I charged her for the food she eats at the reception.

What do you think of that, dont you think its rude.

I bought my wedding dress 3 1/2 years ago to marry my then fiancee who turned out to be a TOTAL prick (in more ways than one) and I called it all off 8 months before the big day. The dress I picked out is the dress I had always wanted. Can I wear it down the isle still or should I get another? My fiancee now doesn't mind. Help?

I have 2 "best friends" one whom I've been close to throughout childhood, and the other I'm better friends with NOW, but haven't known her quite as long. How do I choose?? And if I chose both of them like I've heard someone say, how do you choose what each is supposed to do and who stands where during the ceremony? Thanks!

My wedding is coming up in October and I went to this company. They seemed nice. Not a lot of selection, but the suit looked ok. Anyone ever have any experience using this company?

Basically, my fiance's father left his mom after 21 years of marriage for another woman almost a year ago. They are now married, but he (my fiance's father) basically hasn't talked to my fiance since December, nor did he tell him he was getting married. He also did not introduce us to his new wife (who was present) at Thanksgiving. We're wondering if we have to address the invitation to the both of them even though we don't really want her to come (it would cause to much stress on my fiance's Mom and I really don't want drama at my wedding). Any advice would be helpful.

My boyfriend's sister is getting married in August. The wedding is in the evening and is formal. I asked what I should wear and his mom said a long dress would be appropriate. I found a dress I love and bought it. I took it to his house to show his mom and get approval. His mom, the bride and the maid of honor all said the dress is fine. However, the other day the bridesmaids dresses came in and my dress seems far more formal than they are! I am really worried now because I do not want to outshine anyone and I certainly don't want to stick out too much. Despite the approval I got of my dress, I feel as though I should choose somehting less formal. My dress is a strapless, long, rose colored satin gown by Jessica McClintock. The bridesmaid dresses are celery-hued organza with gathered necklines and wide straps. Should I go with my gut and get a new dress or go with the crowd and wear it? Should I voice my concern to his mother? What would you do??

Thanks!

My fiance recently told me that he wanted to push back our wedding another year or so. We had set the date for September of next year, and were just about to send the deposit in for our venue when he told me he was scared and would like to wait. I was obviously devistated, as I had begun the planning and the venue had been booked, but I agreed to put it off for a bit. I can see where he's coming from because he has a string of very messy divorces in his family ( not one couple still together!!) and the momentum of it all can be frightening. We've had a rough year too, and I wouldn't mind being a bit more financially stable before we wed. The problem is, I'm still so angry at him for canceling our original date! Things will be going well, and then he'll mention the wedding, and I instantly get heated! I'm trying to be understanding and practical, but it's so hard. I know he's scared, but I'm just so hurt.

A girl at work had a surprise bridal shower for me and I'm very grateful. I hadn't planned on adding 30 people to the wedding invite list though. It's a supportive work place but I am not close with many of them. Do I change my contracts and plans to allow for more people and start mailing more invitations?

Last night we booked our wedding, 19/07/2008. We are having a civil wedding in a lovely hotel, followed by wedding breakfast, then an evening reception. Cam anyone recommend any good wedding plan websites so I can work out how much time I need for every planning stage.

Many thanks
