Why not? A lot of styles are very similar.

I bought my fiance's wedding band. I also got him an "engagement ring"- just a sterling silver right-hand Celtic ring to replace one he used to have an lost. The wedding band cost me $40- I was so lucky to find the titanium one he wanted for 60% off at a jewelry store that was going out of business. The "engagement ring" was like $17 online.

you should read my question about rings!
um, no i wouldn't do that on purpose. i say just find the ring that is right for you and your partner. if the ring feels right, then it is the right one.
but if your friend has already picked the same one, i think you should talk to her before purchasing it, just to see how she feels.
you don't want to be looking at that ring the rest of your life knowing that it cost you a friendship... so do be careful.
xx
and congratulations!!

Well, no, it would be really unusual for two guys to go shopping together and choose the same ring for their girlfriends!

I wouldnt. There are many beautiful rings out there. However if you really have your heart set on it, make it out that it was a 'suprise' and you fiance picked it without you knowing.

no the ring is suposed to be special to you. You can't have a replica of someone elses ring.

Actually, to do so is horrible bad luck. Your marriage would fail within 8 months. Happened to a friend of mine, he killed himself soon after... Think I'm joking? I'll send the obits...
