If she has the money and wants to spends that much then let her do it. It is her wedding. And if you already told her how crazy she is for spending that money and she hasn't listened then just let her do it. She is your friend and you do want her to be happy. So if she has the money and wants to spend 8 mill then let her do it. If you haven't told her yet how you feel then just let her know that she can have a beautiful wedding by spending much less than 8 mill. And use some of that for the honeymoon or something. One million will still be a gorgeous wedding. I wish I had a mill.

It is a little hard to spend money you dont have on a wedding. Most people who would have that kind of money to spend would be a movie star. If she is then kudo to her and let her do her thing. If she is going into debt for a wedding then I would suggest asking someone else to help you intervene.

Girl, you are a mess! I don't know which is crazier- your post about your $3million sweet sixteen, having all you limbs broken at the same time, now you've got a friend planning an $8 million dollar wedding. What is the population in your world?

It is her wedding day end of story. The amount spent is as individual as the two people getting married. You are coming from your value system which obviously is quite different from hers. This is your issue not hers and you have to let it go. And for all you know it might just be a nice big tax write off? LOL
Be her friend and enjoy her pre wedding plans and wedding day with her.

OK, I'm sorry to tell you this, but you JUST said the following:
"she does have that kind of money..."
So, I suggest that you shouldn't bug her too much because I think it's just that you are jealous you can't afford something like that. I am not trying to offend you, I swear.
I'm just saying that I wouldn't like it if my friend kept nagging about how much my wedding costs since it is MY once in a lifetime experiece

Tell her to call me and share the wealth! No one has the right to tell someone else what to do with their money, honey. Let's see, 70,000 for a bar mitzvah, 3 million for sweet sixteen party, 8 million for a wedding.....you do have rich friends, don't you? Or just a rich imagination?

Wedding is a very special day for anyone who is getting married but 8 million for one wedding???? That's crazy!!! Now as selfish as it sound to say this but if ur very close with this person, tell her to give at least half of the million for children hospital and use the rest for her wedding. In that case she is not making herself happy but many others!!

You can't. It's her money, her big day, and she'll spend it how she wants. I would personally save for a house, etc... but that's me. And you might agree with me. Your friend does not. She might realize she made a mistake after the wedding, but there's nothing you can do in the meantime.
Are you sure it's 8 MILLION? That's A LOT of money.

If she's able to spend that much on her wedding and can afford it, you should be finding more ways to suck up than to try to talk sense into her. Take her for a ride.
Besides, I bet the businesses and the people employed by them that are servicing the wedding need the money more than her. If she's that daft, she deserves to lose her money to those more hard-working and deserving.
