My groom and I want a unique song to dance to for our first dance and we're both big fans of alternative (mostly pre-2000) and classic rock. Do you know of any good songs for our first dance at the reception?

Same thing goes for table linens - does it matter that the table linens will be white and I'll be wearing a champagne-colored dress?

Hello, I'm looking for a theme for my September wedding. It will most likely be outdoors in a rose garden or botanical garden. I'm not a big fan of roses and I don't feel personally attached to apples. Help!

my girlfriends mortage is 3k a month, i was paying750 but she was always mad at me because she was not getting what she wanted from me and made it real ruff on me! To show me that it is not about the money she suggested i get my own place, which i did !If the situation were reversed she would pay that kind of money ,and we are having a problem solving this ? Although 1500 is a lot of money without type ownership i might consider paying that much if she would give me or show me some type of ownership papers, credit? Also she says she has no money or barely gets by but she buys things on ebay all the time and is currently looking at buying a cutting horse which are several thousand dollars. Lots of my friends think i am getting the run around and being used, what do u think ? oh and we are in our 50's too !

My friend set her wedding date for the weekend of a music festival that we all, including her and her future husband, go to every year. Its the one time a year that all our friends from college meet in minnesota and spend 4 days listening to live music, camping and catching up on life. We all look forward to it every year and have all been planning it already for this year, some already even have purchased tickets and spent $200-$300. And now we find out the wedding is that weekend. Most of our friends are very upset as the bride and groom are completely aware they are coninciding w/ the festival. Now we are left with the dilemna of going to the wedding and being upset about missing the festival or going to the festival and feeling guilty about skipping the wedding. Whats the best way to go about this??

Ok i know that just about everyone has asked this question in one way or another but there is a story behind so please listen to story and then give me any ideas you have and will be much appreciated.
My Fiance and I have had a pretty hard 3 years together. To start off we had to split ways due too work and what not. During that time we didnt talk much....we did have other relationships and sorta moved on. We rekindled what we had and we are so much in love. There is a lot more to the story but you get the gist of it. We have celebrated every holiday together except Valentines Day and we are considering 2007 our lucky year because we are to be married on June 22nd. What could we do on Valentines Day and what kind of a gift should I give him. He already has a ring and what not so doesnt need another one. Something really special. Please be serious.

Any information would be brilliant. Thanks

My wedding is May 19, 2007. I'm thinking about using Sage as the main color and yellow and orange as the accent color. Do anyone think those colors would look nice together?

My fiance and I come from big families. Together we will have over 400 people at our wedding. There are some people that don't get along with one another and there was an instance where we went out to a dance club and both of our cousins started fighting with eachother. I would hope that family and friends would respect our day and not start anything...the last thing I want at my wedding is a fight. Some friends have suggested that I put a little insert in the wedding invitation saying something like "Please put your differences aside and respect our day...we are all here to celebrate the marriage of____" But, I don't know if that would be tacky or be rude. My other friend suggested doing this but only putting them in the invitations of the 8 people that seem to have issues. I dunno...what would you do?

My future MIL is changing my wedding plans. She changed the reception time and instead of inviting everyone to the reception, she invited the town to our ceremony which was supposed to be intimate and private!! My own mother isn't acting that way with me. So I let her get away with that to keep the peace.

This time, I have to set some barriers. I'm going to print my wedding plans and have what will NOT change in bold print and whatever is open to suggestions in regular print. That way, she won't feel left out of the planning. I'm also going to put "(your suggestion)" next to the reception time and number of people that are coming... and then slap her with a guest list sheet. She will have to fill out all (200+) of who will be attending the ceremony and we'll just print the invites. She wanted to invite all of those people to the wedding and I'm not going to have the guest list headache, she is and will think twice about doing something without asking me first. What do you all think?

That magic from love songs and movies...

Is it for real? Should you not get married until you really find it with someone or can you still have a happy marriage without the spark??

My older sister by 4 yrs is getting married and I am her maid-of honor and I'm going to have to give a toast or say something but what?

2007-01-24 06:29:45 · 11 answers · asked by m cheryl 3

I have been best friends with my maid of honor since we were in kindergarten. We have gone through a lot...I was there when she found out she was pregnant at 17 and when she was married to an abusive man that she finally left. So when I became engaged last year, I asked her to be my maid of honor...she gladly accepted. Well, since then I have attended 2 bridal shows both of which she was supposed to go with me (I even bought tickets) and 1 time she didn't have a babysitter which I understood but the 2nd time she was "feeling fat" and didn't want to go. She hardly asks me about the planning and I feel like she is just not interested. Everytime I try to talk to her about the wedding or email her a question she is very short and quickly changes the subject. I really don't understand. I know someday she really wants to get married so sometimes I feel like she is a little envious but I want her to WANT to be part of my wedding. What would you do?

I am 22 years old. When my fiance proposed 3 months ago. My first reaction (inside my head) was "oh crap! Are we realling doing this???" And I kinda had an overwhelming sensation of panic but I never let him know. Then about a week later, I was happy as could be. I was ready to plan the wedding and I was SOOO in love and wanted to get married A.S.A.P. Then about a month later I started doubting that I would truly be happy with him forever and it keeps getting worse. I can't imagine life without him though. I wake up in the morning and start thinking about it and I think "girl you are crazy you love this man so much" then by the end of the day I am planning ways to break it off with him. Then the vicious cycle starts over the next day. HELP I AM DRIVING MYSELF CRAZY!! I am scared to lose my freedom but I don't want to lose him either. Also, I am afraid that maybe he isn't the "one". If I bring it up to him he is going to be crushed and automatically think the worst.
