I just got married 4 months ago. You need to get the marriage license in the state where you are getting married. Depending on the state, you need to find out how good the license is for so you know when to apply for one. The licenses in PA take about 3-4 business days to come in. I hope this helps and good luck. Marriage is a beautiful thing!

You apply for the county that you are being married in. And it valid anywhere. You don't need to record it when you return home (just as if you don't need to record your marriage if you move to another state.)

Just make sure you have a notorized copy of the liscence when you do return so as you apply for a new Driver's liscence, add spouse to insurance, etc., that you will have it ready to show.

You apply for the license in the place where the ceremony will be held, i.e. New York State. You need to carefully check their laws, there is going to be some sort of waiting period from the time you apply for the license until you actually get it and can go through with the ceremony.

The license must be issued by the state that you are getting married in. reciprocity probably wouldn't apply.

well, i speak from experience here: i was in the army in texas but my home of record was newyork. i had to get a license for the wedding( marriage license) in texas. you need to have a license in the state in which you are marrying in.also some states require blood tests( i believe for diseases) but i was exempt from them because in the army you are always getting tested for stuff.

I would check the county office of whichever county you are getting married in, but I believe you have to get it wherever you are getting married.
