Mary Winkler was just acquitted of murder after admitting to shooting her husband's brains out in his sleep. All you have to do with this defence is claim past abuse. (No evidence of abuse is required nor any explanation as to why divorce wouldn't have worked). In terms of sexual equality, how do apply this to males? Shall we permit them to liquidate their wives in their sleep execution style and then get off with nothing by saying, "oh,well, she was a very abusive lady and gosh to think of all I put up with..." Canadian feminists completely reject this doctrine developed by Lenore Auerbach Walker back in the 70's. Why do we tolerate it? Domestic violence is domestic violence and it is what it is irregardless of the malefacter's gender. American women get off very light also for abusing and even murdering their children. What about this? And look at the media. We've all heard of Laci Peterson but how many of you have heard of Nicole Giovanni? Can any of you tell me who she was?

I found a phone number in my husnand's Personal phone directory. I asked him about it and he denied knowing who it was. It read ME with the phone number. Then I found it on his cell phone's memory and again he just claimed this was his bosses's sister and she was Married.. I found out by asking his boss that this was a lie. She lives here in town and he said she lived in another town.
What do I believe or better yet, " What would you think ?"

We have been together for 2 years now and have never been more in love. He is in the marines and I am in college. I go to school about 2 hours from base. We've been talking about marriage recently and both really want to devote our lives to each other. Our families thoroughly believe we are not ready to get married. We are wondering if we should get a marriage lisence now without telling anyone. It would allow us to live together and ease finaces. (Currently he has to live on base because he is not married). I definitally stay in school; there is no way he wouldn't let me. I just don't know what to do because as it is we can't really spend that much time together without spending a whole bunch of money because I cannot stay in the barricks on his base and he can't be in my dorm room at all. Any thought? Thanks Jaimie

instead of getting fussey when she asks you to put the laundry in the dryer you just kissed her and said,"Thanks for everything you do around here wife." And put the damn laundry in the dryer. Not sayin' to be a door mat but it seems more often than not the fights we get in are rather arbitrary and uneeded. I try to pick my battles carefully. Besides, it seems if I give more on the lil things I dont get grief over he bigger things like,"Hey... I know your outa town with no cell services and all but... Ima buy an xbox 360, in fact I am on the way there now so... if ya dont want me to call me back quick..."

He was married once before and has a son.. What can or should we say to him to get him to see that this is a REALLY bad idea? We've tried everything we can think of.

Before I met my husband, I had a fling with some guy who I know is really good at sex. I know he is a player but I have to admit the sex was really good. Question... I have had some difficult problems with my husband and I´m separated at the moment, strongly thinking about a divorce. Misteriously I get an email from this guy I had the previous fling with and has asked me to meet up with him. I know what it will lead to. I´m just so unsure about the whole situation. I need help determining whether it is right to do this(meet up with him ) or just stick to my vows and worked it out. I´ve never been unfaithful and never thought about it or even doubted before this time. Please help me figuring this one out.

Alright.
I'm 19 years old and pregnant with my first child.
I have been married to my husband for a little over 3 years.
We are constantly fighting with each other over anything and everything. He always makes promises to change (take showers more often, brush teeth, no lie to me, ect) The thing is, he just makes these promises to get me to stay with him, does it for about a week, then quits. I KNOW its stupid of me to keep believeing him, but I want him to be right so bad, I kind of think maybe if I DO believe it will work. It's also not just little things like that it's also that he can't think of anything for himself (i.e he has to get up for work in the morning and never sets his alarm and i have to wake him up...he has to call into work in the morning and he doesn't and i have to remind him to call in so he doesn't get fired..just so much crap....he has just done a COMPLETE 360 since we got married, that I don't even feel like Im with the same person anymore.

3 weeks before the birth of our 1st baby my husband told me he didnt love me anymore - completely out of the blue! I found out a few days later that he was having an affair. I confronted him, packed a bag and walked out of our marriage. The affair is still on but he still denies it (really spineless) Will he ever regret what he has done & realise how much he has hurt me - dya think he will ever try to crawl back? Can this affair have any future or has he wrecked his life over a lustful fling? And does his tart see my daughter & I as a threat?

firstly I would like to clear the fact that i did not allow the relationship with my friends husband to go anywhere when he made a move.
My friends husband and i work together and and had to travel interstate for the week. While we were there we went out to dinner etc as friends. then at the end of dinner as we were returning to our rooms (seperate rooms) he decided to kiss me on the lips. I did not kiss him back but instead stood back looking very confussed. He apologised to me and said he just had to do it( before you ask neither one of us were under the influeance)
I am friends with his wife and have no idea if i should tell her or keep it to myself. Her husband swears he has never done that before and wont do it again, basically begging me not to say anything.
My friend has 2 children to this man and i dont want to destroy the marriage but if i keep quite and he ends out doing it again to her i would feel guilty for not warning her
Should i tell her? and if so what should i say

in other words, to avoid cheating, why don't men just marry someone who they would normally cheat with whether they be prettier or skinnier or more sexual than their wife (if that makes sense). that way they won't go looking for that after they marry.

I am leaving my abusive husband, and in the past 7 months have gained 10 lbs because i have not been working out. I usually get a's and b's in my classes, but i just completely bombed a final due to fighting with my soon to be ex which resulted in a D in my class. I am a military vet, and currently am riding off of my GI bill ( which is a small set amount of money for college from being in the military) and we have 2 children. I have'nt landed my last two job interviews, which is odd for me. i just feel like everything is falling apart. is this stress common?

My friend just got married to a guy. After being divorsed, she just wanted someone who LOOKED like he would take care of her. It has been a couple of months, but I just found out that he is a SERIAL KILLER!!! I was at the police station, since I am a police, and I decided to do a background check on him. He has killed 3 wemen that he was married to in the past. And to top that off, he has been in jail 4 times. With a total amount of 386 days!!! I tried to tell her but she won't listen to me! What do I do? I don't want her to get hurt!

what does that mean??
more details: he has been w/ her for a couple years they have a baby together, he says he will never marry (again, cause the 1st time was so bad) he's trying to have another baby, so his current child will have a sibling, (his reasoning)
yet, he wants to start something w/ me
cause we have such a strong chemistry, high attraction, if we did something, it would release the tension between us etc
(these are his words)
it's driving me nuts (in a good way, cause i like the attention)
BUT he's in a relationship, i'm married....and don't want to cheat on my hubby, who is absolutely wonderful
what about just a kiss?? i know that would be cheating...but what if that's all it took... to release the tension between this guy and me? i don't even want to think about it... but i just want to get opinions no judgements, cause we haven't DONE anything but it's driving us both insane i'm only scared of it leading to more then just a kiss. i work w/ him tomorrow.
help plz

Now question, how do you all deal with major differences in a marriage...I.e Cultural, religious, personal preferences?

My husband and I have been married for 6 months (dated for 4 only before that) and are already having problems. We have a lot of differences that didn't seem to make a difference until after we got married even though we discussed everything before hand. I am religious and he makes me feel stupid when he says things like "christians are mindless" when I know I'm not...I like things that he doesn't like and so on but religious has to be the most difficult to work around especially when we have kids! Just looking for some advice..we talk but he gets mad easily so our talks don't go far usually end in me in bed or sad

My husband and I have been married for almost 3 years. We have a 20 month old son together. We met in Church and got married...the whole kit and kaboodal. Then 6 months ago I found out that he has this deep dark secret and devistated me. He left. I have been trying to pick up the pieces of my life and trying to provide a somewhat normal life for my son and myself. What would you do? Would you divorce? Does the pain ever go away?
