If there is a mutual agreement to not engage in sexual fidelity it isn't cheating, but would be considered an open relationship.
Some people would say it's really just cheating with permission, but they completely miss the point that cheating isn't about sex. People cheat on their taxes, they cheat on tests... they even cheat playing solitaire. Cheating is about the lying and the deception, and if there are no lies being told, then there is no cheating.
If there is no agreement, and one partner is "getting friendly" without their spouse's full knowledge and support then they are being dishonest and deceptive, and the word "cheater" would apply.

In NZ its the afternoon, but still we think that once a cheater always a cheater! Obviously you're not married and had your partner "get friendly" with somebody else, or else you'd know how it felt!
I hope it happens to you then I wonder what "nice" words you'd use then!

very funny, but as someone who has both been cheated on and as the (unknowingly) other guy, it just plain sucks that it happens (again and again....to where I am tempted to say the hell with my own ethics and do all that moves, so to speak), and so Cheaters is simply not strong enough of a word...
Twisted f*cks seem more fitting!

Actually cheater is one of the better words,
because a lot of people call them something
else and I can't say what that something else
is because I would be reported.

No, it is what it is. It is a horrible thing to put a person through just because of some body's weakness and selfishness.

It is such a crummy thing to do that cheater really isn't bad enough. If you want an "open" marriage say so.

No, not really. You can use a euphemism I guess, such as extracurricular activity, but there's no nice word for cheating, it is what it is.
