I am leaving my abusive husband, and in the past 7 months have gained 10 lbs because i have not been working out. I usually get a's and b's in my classes, but i just completely bombed a final due to fighting with my soon to be ex which resulted in a D in my class. I am a military vet, and currently am riding off of my GI bill ( which is a small set amount of money for college from being in the military) and we have 2 children. I have'nt landed my last two job interviews, which is odd for me. i just feel like everything is falling apart. is this stress common?

Divorce represents change and everybody deals with change and the stress that comes along with it in different ways, so this is how it effects you. Yes, this is very common and in time, once the divorce is final, things will start to return to normal but expect a rough ride getting there as divorce is never easy to anyone. The idea of a divorce with kids is to make it as easy for the kids, but in the end, everyone willbe alright. Good luck and Happy Holidays

Yes !! Very Common !! You are going through a VERY Difficult time right now, and you've got a million things running through your head. It's a wonder you were even Able to make it Class to get any grade at all. Maybe if you try thinking of school as your "escape time" from what's going on now in your life, your grades will pick up. Don't Give Up!! Good Luck !!

Yes and Yes! But is temporately and as time passes by you star getting and feeling better. Many people take this time to focus on themselves and do things that during the abusive relationship they coulodn't do. They re-establish all friendships, re-connect with family and try to stay as busy as possible. The worst is to dwell on things,,,but if you don't have the time to dwell,,,,then life will begin to take a turn for the best...good luck!
