For example, my family comes from Singapore. Over there, most of the people (including my family) are wealthy and well off. Women could easily lead independent lives and raise family members on their own. Abuse of women is not tolerated at all. Women are treated as equals as men. There is no religious stigma associated with divorce. People there are not any more moral than the ones in America.

So my question is, why is the divorce rate higher in America than in places like Singapore? Or China, Japan, India, and just about every country in South America?

Ok so here is the deal. I'm married and I have 3 children. They are not my husbands children. He and I fully agree on how to discipline the kids in our home but my youngest daughters father disagrees he says that it is against the law for my husband to do so. I have looked around and I have not found anything that has said such a thing. Is this true? It is putting a real strain on things in our home because we would never do anything to hurt the children but its to the point where we are more watchful of what we say and do and the result of that is the children run all over us. Is there somewhere that I can get this law if it does exsist? Any advice would help. Thanks

I am a recovering alcoholic. I lost custody of my 13 year old daughter to her father when she was 3, but have had visitations since. I got sober a year ago and am doing much better, but I am a single mom to a 10 year old also, and don't have very much money. My ex husband does not ask for child support so I don't pay it. My issue is this. My daughter wants a christmas present that cost 150.00 dollars. I can get this for her but then I will be behind. She gets mad if I tell her I might have to get her something less expensive. Every night when we talk on the phone she says "Mom, are you gonna be able to get me what I want or not?" I'm not sure what to do. Should I get it for her and suffer, or get her something less expensive and deal with her anger. Help!!!

Your smile and face was so beautiful
Your heart was so ICE cold
I thought you made me happy
With all the lies you told

Are you ever going to get out of my head?
Maybe with time
Your love should come with a caution tag
Your love is such a crime

It feels like you left me so long ago
the months seems like years
I am so sick of this heartache
I am so sick of drowning in these tears

I pray often to God to bring me death in this life
I know if you ever heard me say that you would smile
God I cant believe I married you
I cannot believe you were my wife.

I have had so many sleepless nights
And all the tears I have cried
I bet you have not shed one tear for me
Because first you have to have a heart inside

I have never so much
LOVED and HATED
I hate to look at myself sometimes
Because I hate to see what you have created

Sometimes I feel so sorry for you
And all the guys after me
Sometimes I feel like putting a bullet in both out heads
To end the misery

I am 30 yrs old. My ex-boyf broke up with me months ago. The break up was very hard for me. He broke up due to long-distance. I was very hurt about the break up as I really loved him and still do now. He has always called me back after the break up and we even met a couple of times. But he doesn't want to let go. About a month ago, he called me that he needs to see me. This was shortly after I told him that I am going travelling for a couple of months. He says he is too scared to loose me but he is not ready to come back to me. I was quite upset to see him leaving so I told him we must go separate ways and have no contact. He was upset but he said he has to accept it. But he called me last week saying he can't forget me and he thinks of me. But he then said he can't be with me now as I am going away to travel. He wants to meet when I come back from my travels. love him and he says he does too but I am so confused. I want to be with him but he says not now maybe later we can talk.

What would do if your husband didn't want to buy you gifts on his own and made you come with him. Also, I have to invite myselft on this adventure, since he never offers. He doesn't do it for holidays either unless I take him to the store, pick it out and then remind him to wrap it. He also has a thing about buying gifts. If I buy him a gift, he refuses to use it because he has already told me that he doesn't want it.

The situation : I am a Step-father of a 5 yr old boy. My wife was not married to the father of the child and left him (with her son living with her) when the child was 1yr old. I met my wife just after she left the father of the child and have been with her and the child ever since. The father has threatened to take us to court to take full custody of his son. (we have a joint custody agreement now where the father sees his son every Wed. and every other weekend). The father has been complaining that he is going to take us to court for the last 2-3yrs (for what reasons he wont tell us). The father is never on time (30-40minutes late most time) to pickup/drop off his son with no phone calls letting us know. I was 1hr late dropping him off today(my step son was on the toilet, and then we were held back by a train). He was really pissed and and is filing papers on Monday. What would he have have to do to win full custody(he has a good lawyer) and do you think he would win?

My husband doesn't work and I am working full-time. We don't have enough money to go out and we are 8,000 dollars in debt. He hasn't worked in 2 years and seems to not mind a bit. I told him it was okay, since he helps me at home with my 2nd job. If I ask him to work, he will tell me that he is going to wash dishes and doesn't know how long he will last before he drops dead. He may or may not get a job and if so, may be very miserable. Is my marriage worth saving. I have a son who is 10 years old and I hate to hurt him. He is not his biologicle father and isn't too attached, but has disabilities. I also take care of my mom. I need his help around the house and taking my son to school. Also, I am persuing a new career and studying at a university. Any ideas?

Even in marriage. Neither spouse has COMPETE ACCESS to the other person's Money or Sex WITHOUT that person's permission.

Spouse A and Spouse B choose where they deposit their pay check and how much to put in a joint account or not.

Spouse A and Spouse B choose if they will allow the other access to their money.

Spouse A and Spouse B choose if they will allow the other access to their sex.

It seems to me that Sex and Money are very similiar.

So why is everyone say a spouse can with hold Sex, but not Money?

A friend sent out wedding invites a couple months ago...well most of her guests declined the invite. She is getting married at the end of December in Michigan. Most of her invites were to people living in Texas, New Mexico & Arizona...so they'd have to travel quite a distance not to mention what the road conditions could be like up North. Well she's has been calling and asking "are you sure you can't come" I've told her nicely several times I just can't afford it this time of year, plus I cannot take additional time off from work...since we recieve a week off for Christmas paid...(Dec 21-27, & if you don't work the week after you loose your holiday pay. I can't afford that) Plus I told her that the weather is already pretty yucky up there...what if I get caught in a blizard. If it were closer or at any other time of the year I'd be happy to go. She's been calling lots of us...how do I tell her nicely without hurting her feelings?

If a spouse doesn't want to have sex is it okay to not want to give them access to all your income?

You each would still contribute each of your FAIR share for the bills and expenses, but keep the rest to yourself.

Would this sort of self behaviour on both side make the other person value their spouse any more or less?

So which is more wrong?
With holding Sex or Money?
