A ex-flame of mind (re-boyfriend to be) are getting back together he says hes in the army reserve. Its not that i dont believe i had seen his picture and all that junk but some of the things he tells me i dont think is true. Such as: someone calling him really early in the morning and him having to leave for chicago? also that he was in iraq. Can he even be in iraq he is in the reserve and just start this junk at the beggining of the year. Would someone please just tell me a little about the army and the reserve. How does it work and what my ex-flame has to do?? please and thank you

the reserves can get deployed just like everybody else does.maybe he was active duty in the army and got deployed to iraq and then went in the reserve. if he is a drilling reservist he has to go at least 1 weekend a month and if youre not sure just ask him what his reserve unit, mos etc is to find out if hes telling the truth

Unless they are called to active duty for a long tour like iraq then it is one weekend a month and two weeks of the year. If he had went to iraq it would have been for at least a 6 month time at the minimium. No he would not get calls at night in the reserves to go do stuff. To find out the story just find some off his friends that are in the same and get to just be on talking relation with them.

Girl you will have to email me with more info, I was in the reserves for six years, but never activated during desert storm, I went active for ten years, so i know enough to tell you that if his unit got activated in Iraq, he may have been over there for a year or two years. I need to know why he would be going to Chicago, to tell you if it is true, If he was in the war, most soldiers bring home pictures of them and their buddies, ask to see these, and awards from the war and souvaneers. The reserves has a drill once a weekend, lasting a saturday and that sunday. They have two weeks in the summertime for training. If the unit is activated for war, they are gone for up to a year to two years and they join with another unit in the army. Any other questions ask me,.

You know to be honest he just might be telling the truth, my husband was in the reserves when I met him they to go to Iraq I know this to be true first hand. Since we have been together he has gone from the reserves to active duty and that makes me a proud army wife. With that said the do and will call all hours of the day depending on his job and rake to come in or fly out it suck but true and very worth it if you really and I mean really love him but if you are still unsure ask him questions like ~ what’s your rank? ~ what’s your ets? meaning when dose he get out ~how long has he been in? and how old is he? What’s his MOS meaning what is his job in the military. ~ what’s his home of recored? I hope this has beeb of some help. And the best of luck to you guys. :)

I would repost this in the military section. You might find some reserves there that can answer you clearly instead of what some of the idiots say.
