What does the phrase "motion to stay" mean in a divorce hearing? Does it mean that someone is trying to buy more time?

Thanks...

Would you continue to buy gifts and or try and make plans for a spouse who did not think of buying you an aniversary or b day present. They claim to be buying you something on pay day but that day never shows up. I don't want to be petty or childish. I do not feel I should behave like a person who is selfish however after a while you start to feel as if your being taken advantage of and being made out to be a fool.

This question has probably been asked 1000 times, but I'm curious.

So, here's the situation. I've been with the same guy for over 15 years. He's always been very loyal and faithful, and so have I. We've been having problems the past couple years (what long term relationship doesn't have issues) but I didn't see this coming.

I found out he'd been cheating with someone from work. He ended it, but I found out just weeks afterwards. He swears it was a mistake, that he'll never do anything like this again, that he loves me and he'll do anything if I just give him the chance.....blah blah blah.

I honestly don't know what I'll do, and I've told him straight out that I'm not giving him any promises. We have kids, and I need time to figure out what I think is best for me and the kids.

So....long story short. Do you think a guy who's had an affair will do it again, or is it possible (common??) to just screw up once and never repeat the error?

Thanks!

We are married for 8 years and we have 2 lovely boys. We love eachother very much and I can't imagine living without him. I just wanted to know if it was O.k for me and my husband disgaree on most of the things ..specially when it is something with his parents and sister. We also disagree on little things like ...may be just a nursery rhyme or how to clean the dishes... We just talk about the disagreement and as usual my husband will forget about it. I am wondering if its really O.K for the couple to disagree on things and still be happy. Also want to know if there are people like this and its normal for a couple to disagree...Thanks in advance for answering my question.

My husband has had to put in 12hrs 6 days a week for the past 4 months and since then we haven't had anything going on in the bedroom. I don't work right now because of the fact that I have to provide his transportation during the day so I'm alone all the time except for the few hours I'm carting him around. I'm an attractive 22yo girl and at the peak of my sexual drive. He's 30 and has had his good share of women before me, but now is showing no sexual drive. It upsets me that he'd rather watch porn and masturbate if he does feel like doing anything at all. I've also found it very hard to resist cheating. I've told him how I feel, but I guess he's too worn out to listen. Is there any advice anyone can give me. A man's perspective would be very helpful also. Thanks.

My wife had an affair about 4 years ago that I caught her in she denied and denied it, but I had proof. (it was in Cancun) She ultimately admitted to it. We have tried to work it out, but 2-3 years ago I began to suspect a co-worker and her may have had an EA or the real deal. I would meet him at events or at her work he is about 11 years older than her. But he never seemed comfortable around me. I told this to my wife and she ummm - hawwed saying, who, him? no way.
Well, this last year we have actually gone out with him and his wife to dinner and parties. His wife is beautiful, personal trainer. Anyway last weekend I invited some of my clients to a party at my house where the other man and wife met my clients. ...fastforward. I met with my clients the other night and they informed me that so and so (suspected man and his wife) were well known swingers!!!!!!!!!!! This has bugged me to no end. Of course I am wondering if my wife was ever envolved. She does do things alone with them.

This is our 5th x-mas together. My husband and I live 6 hours away from my inlaws. The first x-mas we were together we asked them to come here and they refused point blankly. As a result we have spent every x-mas eve here and travelled all day christmas to their house for dinner. They do not have any family or do any special traditions at their house. This year we do not have the money to drive that far or the time as my husband is going to school in a town two hours away January 7th (two rent payments), and I will have finished my fourth year of my degree on the 21st. Now they are furious with us!!! My husband feels terrible but I told him that they are being selfish.

My parents didn't approve of me dating Mark because he was 32 and i'm only 19. a couple of weeks ago he wanted to know if i wanted to move in with his sister. That way we would be able to see each other and have a real relationship. I told him I couldn't do that right now, and that i had to figure out a way to keep him in my life and them too. If I moved I wouldn't be welcome back home, my family would turn their backs on me. He said he already had it all figured out if i would just go ahead and marry him. I asked him does he still want to try and be together if I wanted to wait on marriage for a while. and he said he still wanted us to be together but he had to figure out some things too. I'm confused about what to do, i want him in my life but I have always been the type of person to do what is expected of me. Should I Move and be with him. Or should I listen to everyone else and keep them from turning there backs
on me.

While working out the other day I bumped into a guy I knew from highschool. I haven't seen him in 10 years, and let's just say the years have been good to him. He tells me how he had the biggest crush on me. I was flattered because I never new this. And to make matters worse, I thought he was gorgeous and was a bit turned on.

Being the kind of person I am, when I got home, I told my husband all about it. His response was "Awe, that's great, I'm glad you ran into an old friend." And that was it. He wasn't upset, he didn't ask me anything about the guy, he didn't tell me to stop going to that gym.

What does his response mean? Should it bother him that I was flirtting with this guy that I thought was cute? I though he'd be pissed, but it didn't seem to phase him, what does that mean?

my boyfriend and I just broke up because of a "marriage conversation" in which I told him it was part of my plans and I needed to know if he meant it or not when he said he's never gonna get married (always jokingly). since our break up (we 'd been together 4 years- his first relationship at age25), I've heard about lots of couples breaking up while one of them grows up and then getting back together and getting happily married. I really think this is what is going on and so do most of the people in my life. He says he just needs to figure things out- everyone else says he just needs to grow up. Does anybody know more couples like this? How long were they broken up? he wants to keep talking but I don't want to slip into being "just friends" and I don't think he'll really miss me until he can't talk to me. If you knew a couple like this, did they keep talking or dating or anything? Should I be talking to him? What am I supposed to do during this time?

I am taking my ex to court for back child support. I figure he owes me almost $7,000 and so does my attorney. He brought his now fiance to court with him this morning. She is a single mom herself, so why in the world would she support him knowing he is going to end up paying me all this money?

I know that a lot of people have issues with their mother in law. However, I feel that my mother in law is...a real life psycho. An antisocial woman capable of doing physical, bodily harm.
She has been difficult many times, but I had an especially bad experience with her that totally freaked me out and as a result I cannot bring myself to see her. When I think of getting together with her again, I get really, really anxious and pracitcally have a panic attack over it.
My husband and therapist are pushing me to 'get over it' and resume a relationship with her. I honestly don't feel comfortable and don't know if I can. The therapist thinks it should just be a 'superficial' relationship, that we should not put ourselves in a situation where our well-being is in her control after what happened, but I'm so frightened by her that I don't think I could manage.
I want to do this for my husband, though. What should I do? Pop several Xanax and just go for it?

I got remarried five months after the divorce to an angel I've only known for 3 months. My ex wife says I never loved her, because I fell for someone else so quick. Why do you think she believes that? do you believe that?

2007-12-06 06:47:26 · 11 answers · asked by KJ 6

if youre a military wife, and your husband says he wants a divorce.
Do you have to give him one?

Can you intentionally not sign the papers so that you can still get housing and medical benefits?

My sisters husband is trying to give her the shaft, and cut her off.

They have one kid together and shes waited for him while he was deployed.

Now he says he wants her out of his life just like that.
What can she do to protect herself, or at least take care of herself?

With regards to staying married to keep her medical benefits
with regard topossible alimony payments

Basically he wants toleave her with nothing but a few thousand
thats going to go away because she doesnt have an education
or couldnt get a job because he was deployed.

She wants to not sign papers.
So she gets to use the BAH and he can live in the barracks
if he wants to leave her

And keep her medical
and maybe child support and alimony
