Marriage & Divorce - 4 June 2007

My filed fo divorce claiming i was having an emotional affair with an ex girl friend.I emailed this ex with concerns about my wifes closet drinking.My wife found the email and was devistated.This was 18 months ago.She says she has tried to get over it all this time but can't.She says she forgives me but can't forget.And wants to move on with her life.I love my wife but she has filed for divorce and it will be final this week.I wasn't having an emotional affair,i was confiding in someone that happened to be my ex girl friend.My wife has turned into a cold closed off robot.She has changed her phone numbers etc.I just wanted her to level with me and open up .She won't and im havng a very hard time moving on.She was everything to me.We loved each other so much and now its just like we never happened.How can this woman just cut and run like this.Both of us are 44.We knew each other in high school back in 1980. We found each other and got married in 2005 .

Let me start by saying I am a strong, beautiful, extremely intelligent woman. I have never had a problem obtaining the attention of men...... until now! My live in boyfriend is addicted to porn. He always had quite a bit of porn in his home beore we moved in together and I was ok with it even being in our house until it started taking the place of our intimacy. I was never threatend by it before and even had fun with it. I've begged, cried, threatened, and even tryed to talk to him calmly about this and nothing changes. I love him dearly and he says the same about me. We live as if we are married, house, cars, step son. It has gotten to the point where I feel as if I'm lacking in some way. All my guy friends tell me he nuts not to want me. What can I do to save this relationship and not feel so helpless????

I've tried to move on and I have. I live in a different part of the country. I'm married and have children. But I still love my ex and I can't help but think that one day we will be together again. My friend just had her divorce finalized about 2 weeks ago. She did not really want to go through with the divorce, she didn't think he would sign the papers. NOw she is crying all the time and wondering what he is doing . They did get together for a night of sex and now she thinks he needs to call her all the time and she is obsessed and always has been about his were abouts and if he is with someone. She has a 7 year old,(hers from a previous marragie)she tried to keep their night he was over a secret but he knew and now she has asked him to keep it a secret from his nana's. I don't know how to help her, She is on medicine and sees a counsiler but I don't know that any of that is working. She has always been with someone and she wants to be with him. She said that she only thinks and fantasizeds about him and always has.

I am trying for the past three months to accept my marriage is over,it all a blur,it happened so fast.I miss her so much.Why did she do this.The divorce will be final this week.She has moved on.She says she wants to be alone.She's a closet alcoholic.Hid it from me,before our marriage and during.Shes passive agressive in nature.I think the truth is shes found someone else but will she ever tell me the truth.I just wanted the truth.Shes very private and closed off.Im open and honest.She said we couldn't live together unless we were married,she didn't want to set that example for her son.We got married.What kind of example does it set when you file for divorce after only to years.I would have done anything to work it out.She says shes done,no more room in her heart for meno more second chances to give.Says her heart is hardened and closed off.Is this just a story or is she just saying this because she has found someone else.It kills me not knowing the truth and i think she gets of on it.

Just because your not married to the mother anymore, you still have kids, and they deserve the same life they would have had , if their parents hadn't divorced. Why should they suffer, while their parent goes off, and has a great life?

And kids very rarely move out at 18, so the mother is still financially helping, and supporting the kids, while the father is free of any responsibility! The kids just don't move out on their 18th birthday! They still need support, untill the get on their feet! They don't just get kicked out on their 18th birthday! And of course the child it WORKING at 18, but not making enough to pay for college, a apartment, food, and all other expenses!

So answer both questions!

Why do fathers hate paying Child support?

Why are the fathers free not to pay when the child turns 18, when the mother is still supporting the kids?

My husband and I have been married for 3 years. He is a Malayalee and I am white. His parents are Pentacostal Christians as am I but we had issues with is family from the beginning. They never supported our marriage. About a month ago we were dealing with somethings his parents said about me. I was offended and he took their side. He told me he was going to speak with them in person (we live in Oklahoma and they live in Michigan) and he would be back in a few days. He never returned, he changed his address, and quit his job by e-mail. He will not speak to me or answer my phone calls, text messages or e-mails. I know that many people will say I should divorce him but as a Christian I feel that is the wrong thing to do.
Also I have heard from some people he worked with that he may have been on singles websites at work and that he may have gone to New York to see someone. I really need some advice about what to do. Anyone who is a Malayalee Christian might have some insight about this.

On Friday 6-1-07 my wife went to a party with her friends from work. She was there for 4 hours. I finally call her and she gets upset because she says that I am very jealous and that I always think that she will be unfaithful. I told her, "I just called because it is already past 12:00 midnight".
She told me, that she was just on her way out of the party and on her way home.
I don't mind for her to go out with her friends. She hardly ever does anyway. She hadn't gone out in about 3 months anyway. I did ask her why there was no answer when I called. There was just a pick up but no answer. Then I keep calling back and there is no answer at all. Five minutes later she calls me and says that she was just on the way out and going home.
She gets upset because I ask her about the first call where there was no answer just a pick up.
She tell me that I am blowing things out of proportion.
I just don't think it's right for her to be getting home so late.
AM I WRONG?

I just found out that my ex is going through his 3rd surgery and can't walk or stand. I haven't seen him in about 5 yrs and we only email occassionall due to the anulment. I'm worried, but I don't feel its my place to find out more about what's going on. Is there something I can do to let him know I'm pulling for him, but not get too personal?

for staying out till 1am for the last 3 days and being so tired from all that fun that he missed work today even though we are paycheck tp paycheck right now. He NEVER has done it b4 a friend was visiting from out of town but he was supposed to be home around 9pm on the three days and all 3 nights I was worried about him b/c he didn't call to tell me he was running late.

I knew him since we were 19-20 yrs old. A few months ago I ran into him, he was with his GF. I hug him, greeted her, talk for a few & left. Then I ran into him again with his GF. And AGAIN. This time he was alone. He told me he always had a crush on me, always liked me, always wanted me, but felt he didnt stand a chance & I was always with someone. I HAD NO IDEA. We talked for a long time. Exchanged #'s. I started to like him. He's been with his GF 22 yrs. They have 3 kids, never married. We're both 42 now. I was with him til 1:30am this wkend. Had a GOOD time. At a point he got passionate on me & it felt so good but I stopped him. He wants to be with me, told me the last 5 yrs his life with her isnt happy & he wants out but said it isnt easy & doesnt have a plan. He's been calling me often lately. I feel like he's being honest, but I dont know what to do. He has that life with that girl but we're getting involved.

Kinda hard to stop seeing him, I like him too. What should I do?

My husband is an alcoholic, always has been, but was clean most of the time until recently. Yesterday, I told him I would leave if he does not quit. He threw a fit at first, saying he would move out. Then later on he told me I am more important and he would quit for me. Can anyone tell me why the hell my soon to be ex mother inlaw is so interested in my life. Yes I am the mother of her Grandchildren but that's as far as it goes. I was married to her son for 14 years. He's buggered off with another woman and now she rings me every night wanting to know where I am, who I've seen, where I'm going, it's driving me insane. I don't want to hurt her feelings as she has had a lot of illness recently plus she has to put up with the fact that her son is a complete prat.

I just asked a question regarding stalking. I’ll give more details so you all can tell me if I have a case. First I noticed that she changed her address and her mail isn’t coming to my house anymore but any mail that I do get (marketing mail or another piece of mail) with her name on it, someone is crossing out just her first name and putting it in the mail box. Would the post office do this? I would imagine they don’t have time to cross out somebody’s name even if they know they don’t live there anymore. Is it tampering with mail? I would think the post office wouldn’t cross the name out because that’s tampering with the mail. They just deliver as is. Also she is dropping off her daughter at my neighbor’s house in the morning right when I leave for work and showing up at the gas station right by my house at the same time as me (I just drive by). This weekend I have to take my children back to their mother at a specific time. My ex. Knows the time and lives 20 minutes away now but right at the time I take my kids back, she was at that convenient store right at that time on Saturday morning. Is that enough for stalking and please answer the question about the mail so I can call the post office and report it. She seems to be stalking but being very good at doing it in a public place so it doesn’t look like it. But the mail thing is a different story. Maybe the post office is doing it? I doubt they have time to look through the mail and crossing out her name. I think they have to deliver it as is without alterations. I can’t see a mail guy knowing she doesn’t live there anymore and crossing her first name off the mail that comes to the house. I don’t think they can do that. Anybody work at the post office here? I want to see if I can use this as evidence. Plus somebody smashed in the side of my mailbox but I don’t have proof it was her.

I have been married for almost 4 years and my husband is not as sexual as I am - never has been since the beginning. I have a very stressfull job working with young offenders and this can lead to long hours and weekend work. My wife and I have been fighting for about 2 years and its getting to me, I'm almost at the point of leaving, but can't seem to bring myself to do it. The issues do run deeper, lack of sex, lack of communication.

I have tried to talk to her and seek help together but she wants none of it even though she knows we are in trouble, she would prefer to sit on the couch and do nothing. I keep suggesting things to do and places to go to occupy us, but all she can say is whatever, I'm not bothered or its up to you. Yet when I ask whats wrong, I get nothing but silence and no reason behaind why she is so moody. She goe's in moods for days on end for no reason at all. I have lost friends through this and my own brother wont come round because of the atmosphere.

I don't wnat to leave as it breaks my heart, but I can't go on like this anymore. Help

i just got married and my husband and i are both in the millitary. right now were at two different duty stations. but my time to get out is in two years i cant be moved to his duty station enless i reenlist. which is something that i dont want to do at all. my husband is staying in the millitary and getting orders to go to japan. i can go with him once im a civilian but what kind of jobs can i do? i dont want to get out the army and be some army housewife with nothing to do but have children. and in another country where theres barely any english. i dont know. i just dont want to feel like im depending on my husband once i get out the millitary. but since hes staying in and im not i have to move to where ever he gets stationed at. and thats hard to find jobs constently. so what do i do? if i reenlist to go to japan with him then i'll owe the army more years of my life and anything can happen to our future then.

We met online and talked/wrote for nearly a year before meeting. Since then, we've lived together just over a year.

We've talked about the big stuff: kids, religion, fiances, sex and where to live.

While online, we also talked a lot about where and how we grew up and how that affected us, what bugs us and what we want out of general in life.

When we fight, we've talked about it and we're not having the same old fights all the time.

However, living together and being married might be different and it's sometimes the little things that can lead to conflict more so than the big things.
