I divorced in MI with kids 3 months after we filed. We both agreed to the divorce, we agreed the kids were to live with me, we had no marital assets and we had lived seperately for over a year.

When we went to our Case Management Conference, which is when the judge checks to see how the case is proceeding, we just told him that we were ready to proceed with the divorce and that there was no lpossibility the marriage could be saved. I was very insistant and my ex agreed, so the judge granted our divorce that day.

Each state is different. Can be as little as 6 months or drag out for years. Check with the local clerk of court; might have a ballpark

In Oklahoma, an uncontested divorce without children requires 30 days after filing. In other states it will be different.

Mine only took about six weeks. You can get simplified divorce if separated for two years (only one party consents) or after one year if the two of you consent).

I just had to fill in form, send marriage cert away with cheque and that was it.

Can be 8 to 10 weeks as long as it's a straightforward split. i.e. neither of you are contesting the divorce.

It depends on the state. In Reno, NV, you can get one the same day. Other states have mandatory waiting periods.
