A few years back I calle dchild services on my younger sister who was 24 at the time, we were very close friends as well as sisters and we talked all of the time, but then she began using drugs and getting high and becoming an alchoholic. Often she would have dealers and just to be blank "crack heads" in her home, and my neice Lindsy had come to me and told me that her mother let a man rape her for some crack! that's when this all had to stop, so I took all her kids to mu house and hadn't realized most had bruieses on there legs and back and stomachs, so I called child services and they brought thier mother to jail and put them into custody with me, and she has been going to rehabilitation, the problem is now that she's out and clean she hates me, annd her children she won't come see them or anything and that makes her 4 kids really mad, I mean it's not my Fault, is it? also my question is the oldest who was raped has been doing poorley in school, and often curses at teachers and has

Ok, I will make this as short as I can. I have a 6 month old daughter by a guy who's only seen her 7 times and his family has never seen her. Yet, he claims that they know about her. We talk on the phone, almost everyday but our conversations are rarely about the baby. I have arranged for my daughter to get blessed this coming Sunday. I informed him about the date last week (the day I found out about the date) and he blew up about how this was too much of a short notice for him to invite people and that I am always doing things my way when it comes to her. I have told my family about the event and they are planning on making it and wouldn't miss it for anything in the world so I don't understand what his complaint is about. I think that if anyone wants to attend the ceremony of our daughter that they will make arrangements and come out and show support. I understand him thinking that it's last minute for preparations, but I have arranged everything. Am I wrong for not changing the day?

I am from a small family but my husband has many sisters. We all live very far from each other. Each time we go to visit his mother, all of them would come to join us. All meaning 20 something people with hubs/bfs and kids. We all stay in a 2 bedroom place - you can image... One of the sisters - I will call her "Jane", would go wherever we go, with her kids and sometimes her husband too.
Jane would find out where we go for our vacation and would try to arrange their vacation to join us. Once we were at a cottage and she and two kids joined us the whole time. Another time we wanted to go to a beach place, she emailed us telling us that she wanted to join us with her family for 6 days. I really had enough of it so I emailed her back telling her that we would rather vacation alone. We stopped talked to each other since...
Am I being unreasonable or is she the problem?

I am raising a little boy (he's 7 now) and I am curious to know what men today say about their childhood in regards to their mothers. Things like events that stick out in your mind or maybe things you wish would not have happened. Did she smother you too much? Or not enough? And how do you think that affects who you are today and your current relationship with her as an adult. Do you wish you could do anything different or that she had done something different? Or maybe she was great and you never wanted it any other way... what was so great?

Well I recently have been thinking about it and I do not like my Dad. He isn't nice to me really. He says things like "quit being an idiot" and when I get in trouble, he yells so loud. There are SO many reasons why I don't like him but I'd rather not say all of them. I wish I had another Dad. And he will NEVER change I bet. Does anyone else not like their mom or dad?

My mom died one month ago..today we went to split up stuff. I did not want to go as too soon but coerced by my brother,. ALL of my 5 siblings took items saying they purchased them (no problem),,I asked for a plague I had engraved for my dad the year he died. My brother wanted it. I had previously told the executer another borther I wanted this 4 times. They gave it to my brother. I oprotested saying it was unfair that they all took items they purchased and iof I had to put mine in the "raffle", then they needed to put their stuff there too. One brother threw the book at me and nearly hit me in the mouth with it..there there you selfish person and then started yelling and saying vial things about me and saying he was leaving..his wife said don't let her rob you of your joy..all the sudden my sister lunged at me and started trying to choke me and crying and putting me down very badly and saying acting like

Ok, I am married. My husband is very picky about somethings. My sister has come to live with us. which, I'm sure my husband isn't thrilled about. I've asked her to keep a low profile and not do things that annoy him. 2 of his pet peeves are leaving the doors open and eating anywhere except the kitchen. my sis is continually leaving the door open. today her little daughter was eating cereal in my pc room. I asked her to take her to the table and my sis got all upset and took her daughter to the car like I was asking her to commit murder. She sat in there with her daughter and cried over it. All I asked was that she make her daughters eat in the kitchen and make sure she shuts the door. Am i asking too much? Am I being too demanding?? Please help.

Mother has primary custody, but threw the 16 year old boy out of the house with no plan as to where he was going to go. The father ended up having to pick up the boy from a sketchy neighbor's house. They invited the boy to stay with them. Of course, we won't allow this and also want to know if there is anything that can be done to keep sketchy neighbors out of our business? The boy has been caught smoking different things and drinking at this neighbor's house.

My boyfriend and i are off to New York in 3 weeks and cant wait, aside from one thing. I have never met his sister and we are due to stay with her and her boytfriend for the 2 weeks we are there. Originally i asked that we get a hotel for the first few nights , just to get over jet lag and get to know each other, but my boyfriend kept forgetting to mention to her that we wanted to do this, so now i feel it is to late to say anything now as it would be rude but i feel uncomfortable as i dont know her and i know that she is a clean freak so i wont be able to relax even more with that, she seems very nice but it is spoiling it a bit but then i dont want to stop my man from staying with his sister, please give my opinions help!!!!

came over to our home, unannounced durring our visitaion. SD saw her out the window, opened up the door and said "Hi Mommy." My husband heard her say this and started to walk towards the front door. Before he got around the corner, he heard SD yell, "Daddy!" By the time he got to the door, Baby Mama was running off of property and jumped into the passenger seat of an unknow vehicle with SD on her lap (no car seat or seatbelt) and they peeled out of the edition. There were skid marks left on the road. My husband called the cops, but they said there was nothing they could do b/c it was her mother. My husband called her...She picked up the phone, screamed “Take it up with the courts, B!^@#!” and hung up on him. They did go to court and the judge ordered them to take a parenting class ($100!). She has a long history of eratic behavior, but every time we take her to court, she lies on the stand, judge believes her and we wasted another day that we could be working. What to do...??

We went to visit his mom last weekend. She called him today and said she doesn't see him much, but we live three hours away from her and its hard to get down there and away from school. He goes down and takes her to dinner once a month. It always seems like he chooses his mom over me when we argue, and his mom is always downplaying me- and it hurts when he doesn't stick up for me. OK long story.
when I was 12 my mum told me my dad wasnt my real dad. He raised me from birth. It was the worse feeling in the world. My Daddy. My hero. The man I looked up to. Not mine. He is my two younger brothers dad and I was raised to believe he was my dad too. It broke my heart and 5 years on it still really hurts. I speak to my "real dad" and he is quite wealthy and all that crap i have a younger sister (my life) and a 15 year old brother. I love them all so much but I will never get over the fact that my family the people I love and trusted with my life lied to me. I couldnt believe it and I will never forgive them on the inside. My "Biological dad" loves me soo much its unbelievable Ive never felt love like this because my daddy is so distant now. Hes not the same man he was 2 years ago. He ALWAYS shouts at me and has something to moan at me about. People say that he is just upset because he thinks I dont love him the same. But I love him so much I actually cry because...

Yeah. OK. So a friend of mine asked a question on here and got some inappropriate responses, which prompted *me* to ask a question related to the frustrations she experienced as a result of that event, and now... the answers *I* got to *that* question leads me to pose *this* question:

What does "Silence Perpetuates Violence" mean?

Thanks!

If you want to elaborate, consider these supporting questions:

Do you believe it is a true statement?
Do you believe it is a false statement?
Does making this statement threaten the stability of society?
If so, how?
Does making this statement contribute to improving society?
If so, how?
Do you believe men are more likely to believe this statement?
Would men more likely to respond favorably to the concept?
Do you believe women are more likely to believe this statement?
Would women more likely respond favorably to this concept?

Finally do you believe those more likely to answer this question will be part of "the choir," as we say?

Thanks, again

her daughter was addicted to pain pills, she has been in rehab and put in jail because her urine came back positive, my sister is about to lose it, and her husband has been dead for a few years.I'd like to know what if anything I could do to help my sister out. She is just at a rock and a hard place. We talk on the phone once a week, and I let her vent her problems to me, but I feel so bad for her, she didn't do anything wrong, yet she is being punished. Her daughter also, lost her house, and is having to wear a ankle monitor for a few years. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated, please only ones who will help, not smart remarks. Can you help?

I just need some advice. My mother has emailed my step-father saying that she wants a separation. She hasn't been honest with me either. I have a feeling that she went back to an old boyfriend from her teenage years (who is married)!

My mom has never been happy. After my father died she got married to my step-father only after one year. They've been married now for about 7 years and now she says that she's not happy. My step-father is a good man and recently walked me down the aisle on the happiest day of my life; I refuse to abandon him. But now my mother and I aren't speaking with each other because we just fight and all the conversations are useless.

I believe that marriage is forever. I can't imagine treating a person as if they are disposable. My mom is also leaving her two cats and dogs; I think her behavior is disrespectful/disgusting. She just got on a plane and left all of them...and now she's not going back.

It seems like all I can do is pray for her?
