Mother has primary custody, but threw the 16 year old boy out of the house with no plan as to where he was going to go. The father ended up having to pick up the boy from a sketchy neighbor's house. They invited the boy to stay with them. Of course, we won't allow this and also want to know if there is anything that can be done to keep sketchy neighbors out of our business? The boy has been caught smoking different things and drinking at this neighbor's house.

This constitutes child abandonment and endangerment.
If you must get him out of the house he must be turned over child protective services. And unless he is endangering other family members they are not going to accept him.
Which puts you back to square one if you do not shelter him.

i left home at 16 but it was my choice. sounds like this teenager is being a very big handfull. u say hes smoking lots of stuff, and drinking. maybe the mom cant handle it anymore. is there other kids in her home? maybe she threw him out to keep the other kids safe, or to keep her house from burning down. im sure if hes doing all that hes doing other things. being disrespectful, lying, stealing, hitting ppl or walls. maybe the mom was at her last wit and felt it was for the best to show him that its my way or the highway.(tough love) u say the neighbor isnt any better well then keep him away. try talking to the mom and hearing the whole story. if the mom cant handle it then the father needs to step in. sounds like he needs a good *** spanking
