People never say that I look like my mother, lol, so I wouldn't know. Everyone I know says I look like my father. The eyes, the lips, and the nose.

I hate it I wasn't brought up by my mother and didn't even meet her until my son was 3 years old and it was very strange to say the least . I was brought up by my dad and his mother (my grandma) who died when I was 15 and it was like losing my mum. Unfortunately I do look like my mother and people who know her and me do say we look alike but we don't have any contact with each other but don't live too far away from each other but I don't like the fact that we look alike. On the other hand I have a daughter and we are like 2 peas in a pod we are so alike and I love this fact and we are so close and I am still married to her dad after 38 years of marriage. incedently I also have a son and he looks just like me as well . My husband did contribute but my genes must have been the stonger ones.

Pleeeazze - I get that all the time. It doesn't bother me one iota. My mum was much better looking at my age than I am but its nice that people compare me. She is now a hotty and 70 plus!!

For the most part, it's just an observation. Nothing you need to feel or say or do.
Now, if your Mom looks like a cross between Alien and Quasimodo, then they are insulting you.

Hi,
People say this to me occassionally - 'Oh don't you look like your mum' ect.
I just laugh it off and carry on with my day. I don't get upset about it.
Plus my mum is pretty so I don't mind getting told I look like her!

It makes my toes curl, when my mother was the same age as me now, she looked like an old hag.I never want to be compared to that old dog

Really really p***ed off i dont look like my mum i look like me im my own person goes my head i get called Minni Jan thats my Mums name dont like it.

I feel like it is the greatest compliment they could give me. Makes me feel like she was still alive. I know she is in my heart though. When I get told that I tell them thank you for the compliment.
