Family - September 2007

I need my job, my husband and I work separate shifts, only see each other on our day off.(want to spend time with him) Need to see my mom who lives alone in another town, want to see my two grown children(who also have crazy hours at work) and Grandkids(who want Grandma time,who I miss) who each live in different towns,(none too far away, just all in different directions) plus need a litlle time to relax on my day off. How do people do this?

Ok I am 27 and I live with my parents with my 16 month old daughter. I haven't been able to get a job for a while so I can't pay rent. I don't go out at all I stay home 24/7 But I do keep the house clean and cook the meals and take care of my 9 year old nephew after school. But nothing I do is good enough for my mom. The house isn't ever clean enough, Ok I have a toddler it's kinda hard to keep every toy put away 24/7. And my nephew is always leaving stuff all over the house. But lately I just can't take it anymore. She starts to yell at me and she won't stop. If I argue with her or even keep my mouth shut she just gets even more pissed. I have gotten to the point I want to grab a knife and cut my arm just to see if that would shock her into stopping for just a minute and see what she is doing to me. I would never kill my self or hurt my mom I love her but I am at the end of my rope. I can't afford to go to a therapist so what should I do? I applied for housing but have been ignored.

I think my dads on heroin. Whenever i go down there he acts strange. Hes in the toilet for ages, when he comes out it smells like somethings burned and hes ALWAYS tired. He lives with my nan so I'm almost certain she knows. My brother loves my dad but I cant tell him hes too young. I don't know what to do, Please can someone help.

this party and i guess i tried to kill myself now i just found out about this tonight they did not even tell me i had no clue so my question is should they have told me or wait five days till i find out from my sister who heard it from my mom who heard it from my aunt and so on. Also now everyone in my family knows and i feel a little ashamed so what should i do to not feel this way.

What happened? I have just been getting angrier and angrier by the minute. Yesterday it got so bad that I started getting into my husbands and daughters face and screaming again. Tonight It got even worse; I started throwing things, fist fighting my husband and daughter, even threatening ti kill myself again.

It started out with my husband coming into the living room calling me a slob, lazy, no good for nothing. Saying I need to be taught how to clean. I clean this house everyday; sweep and vacuum the floors, do the dishes, make the bed, pick up after them, make his lunches, and make sure they get up every morning on time (even if I haven't had but 2 hours sleep). For the last week I have been only getting (if I'm lucky) 4 hours sleep every night, then waking up to make his coffee and lunch, wake him up, and wake my daughter up. After they leave I get on the computer for awhile do the cleaning watch the T.V., and wait for them to get home to make dinner.

bottom line - they HAVE screwed us out of money in the past.. they HAVE screwed my bro-in-law - who they live w/ now - out of money.. they have SEVERE money problems (they can't manage it at all) but they are being kicked out of their apartment w/ my bro-in-law on october 1st, and i feel bad!!

should i make this my problem and talk DH into letting them stay with us for a while?? or do i forget it and let them figure this ish out on their own??

Hi,
I'm a 16 year old female who's parents recently split up. Grade 9 i was a perfect student, then i began to party and get into drugs when my parents split up. I continue to do drugs and party. However, I feel like I can have the best day in my life and come home and be extremely angry all of the sudden. I have So much hate towards my family it is unreal. I dont really stay at my moms, she has a boyfriend in the states which she left my dad for so she isn't home often, and when we do speak she takes complete advantage of me. I dont know what is wrong with me? Why can't i get over my parents not being together? Many people go through it and get over it, and I just can't seem to, it is always on my mind and makes me cry at least 3-5 times a week. Whats the problem?

im 15 years old.and my dad HIT me (literally) for the first time.
i haven't talken to him in 7 months.nothing.nada.not a word.i don't even look at him.he hit me cuz i accidentally stepped on his feet with my heels on.(the heels were very long)
hes bribed me and everything so that i'll talk to him
but i won't talk to him cuz im a stubborn person

My brother is 8yrs older than me. and he is a medical docter. I'm 20 yrs old. we always shared a great bond. he was always kind to me and took me as his little doll. But after he got married he doesn't speak to me, he doesn't care about me, frankly I feel as though I lost my brother. I'm so heartbroken over this matter. please help me get through this. He got married only 4 months ago and he and his wife doesn't have any problems. But they live in different towns coz of there work locations. they only meet on weekends. I thought it might be his matter, but he is so arrogant towards me. And its too much for me to bear.

first off my mom is on drugs all my life no one wanted to take me in; in our family so they forced my mean aunt to adopt me. as I was growng up she moved me out far excluded from the family she physically & mentally abused me as a child even when I was a teen things go farther than this even her daughter & grandchildren did some pretty F'd up things.When I turned 18 she basiclly threw me out bcus I wouldnt walk her dog down to a feild in the deep snow in the winter.I was living with my mean aunts friend her daughter was my bestfriend but they started using me,so I left know skip all the other stuff.Today is my cousins bday & I been noticing this bcus she was adopted by my mean aunts sister they wanted her quick! but not me. They treat her like royalty buy her clothes every day almost anything she wants but push me to the side. My bday just passed & all I got was a ipod bcus mine broke but they bought her 3 one got stolen,she broke one on pupose, She got a big flat screen Tv & a new Car

Is it ok for a 9 yr old girl (who's maturity level is 12-13, (raised with 1 brother who is now 20) to walk home from school (2 blocks, school on same street as home), call mom (at work) on her cell to let her know she got in ok (girl has key), then do homework, tv, etc til mom gets home a 2 hrs later? It was commonly known as a latchkey kid back in the days & was very commonly done with no hesitation from the parent but what about now? Is it ok? Added detail: Home is in a usually safe neighborhood.

Its been a good couple of years since I last went to a concert. (Back when Jimmy Eat World was touring with Blink182 and Green Day). Now I've discovered a new band Chiodos. They're coming to Austin and I really want to go. My friend, who is also coincedentally a guy that I like, is offering to take me as an early birthday present. My dad is hesitant to letting me go, and my step mother is the last "yay" or "nay". I told my dad that we were going to just see Chiodos and then leave for home. (A good 30-45min. away.) He complains that its a school night, but the show starts at 5:30. He complains about no parental guidance, but the Physics teacher is going as well, with her son. He complains about transportation, but my friend's parent is going to drive us there and pick us up. I see nothing wrong here. Can anyone offer me advice etc?

I love my mom. And recently we went to on vacation to the Dominican Republic (where she is originally from). While on the trip, she had an accident and broke her ankle the first week were there. The next 3 weeks werent that great for her and she was miserable. When we came back to the U.S, I decided that I wanted to go study medicine over there which is my dream. I told my dad and he supported me 100%. I didn't want to tell my mom because I was supposed to leave to Boston for college and changed my mind. I thought that by not telling her, I would avoid her a headache "for the moment" (since she was still in pain about her ankle). But then she found out about my decision from someone else. I know that she feels hurt and I should've gone to her as soon as I made my decision. She hasn't talk to me for 3 weeks. I just dont have the courage to face her and feel embarassed for the pain I caused her. How can I approach her?

pretended to be out said we are having guests and he still comes round. If we're not in at 6.30 he comes at 8pm. I tried to get him to break this habit, by going to his house at 5 pm but he still turns up at 6.30. My mum passed away 2 yr ago, so I try to understand his lonliness and visit him 3 -4 times a week, often staying a few hours to keep him company.
I have told him to go to night school, fishing or any other hobby he would enjoy, or even get a new partner but he refuses, saying he likes to visit me & my hubby at night.
The thing is he tries to cause trouble by pulling me apart to my hubby and my hubby apart to me. We took him on holiday with us earlier this year and he made us go to the room after the evening meal so the three of us could have a drink before bed on the balcony so our bedtime was 9pm We couldn't sneak out after that because he made us get up at 6.30 am for brekkie. I'm 47 and still scared to disobey or hurt him. What can I do. My dad is very fit and very sane

my parents split up last year. I live with my mom and my dad lives in a apartment 5 minutes from me. Here is the problem. I don't visit my dad that much as he wants me to. I visit him once every week. And he's been complaining about everything mostly. Like last week I went to a football game with my friend and his parents and we were going to meet some friends there. I guess he was there to and he started saying why didn't you ask me to take you and he just complains that I don't say anything to him anymore and its driveing me crazy Its makes me feel like a bad son. He is an elderly man but is sooooo anoying!!!! He takes care of yard like it's his prized posstion. He gets up like at 5am and is loud!!!!! My bedroom looks out to his yard and scince it's been hot I leave my window open. He yells at us when were're outside telling us to stay off his lawn when were're not even near his property!!!! He gives us evil glares and sometimes he will come outside yelling at no one!!!! HELP PLEASE!!!! I've already tried to be annoying on purpose like playing my music loud, put a dead bird on his lawn and threw a dead rat in his backyard. I know it's mean but what else can I do?!!!! Sorry if spelling is bad!! Typing fast.

There is a girl at work who I think is lying about her fathers health.

She has an interview for another job tommorrow because all she does is moan about this current job.

She has told the managers she has an appointment at the hospital with her father tommorow because she has previously told them that he was ill previously.

I found out today, that she has an interview tommorow and she lied about her father.

What do think of that, do you think it is sick?
