There is a girl at work who I think is lying about her fathers health.

She has an interview for another job tommorrow because all she does is moan about this current job.

She has told the managers she has an appointment at the hospital with her father tommorow because she has previously told them that he was ill previously.

I found out today, that she has an interview tommorow and she lied about her father.

What do think of that, do you think it is sick?

It's not necessarily sick, just a poor way to go on an interview. If you want, you can inform your manager the employee is going on an interview, though most people wouldn't want to do this. This way, the manager can ask the employee to bring in a note from the 'doctor' her father is seeing so the absence will be excused. When she's unable to get this note, she may tell the truth. I don't know why she had to make up this story. All she had to do was ask for some personal time off. This does remind me though of my uncle.. he wanted to go on vacation to visit his family up north and he told his boss a lie.. told him that his brother had died. Well, right after he got home from vacation, one of his brothers did die. I can't imagine how I'd feel if that happened to me. It looks like you won't have to deal with this person much longer, so hopefully you can get an employee who can be honest about taking time off when needed.

SOunds to me like the girl has some issues, however, what is it to you if she has a sick dad or a job interview? If her dad is really sick, just be the bigger person and hope that he can recover. If it is a job interview, what harm is it going to do if she does get hired? You wouldn't have to listen to her moan about her job while youwork withher right?

Can't say I would lie about father's health as strong believer what come's around goes around etc... Put it this way wouldn't jinx it but end of day has nothing to do with you really so just ignore it and forget about it and think hey I'm better then that as I would not lie about my dad being ill!

She had to lie to the manager so as not to be in trouble at work in case she is not hired at the job where she is scheduled for an interview, Everybody makes such little lies.

i worked with a woman who was off work due to her father been sick.

I saw her in the pub when she should have been in London with him.

She told work she had been in the pub drowning her sorrows because she had turned off his life support machine and he had died

6 mnths later she put in a leave chitty to attend her fathers wedding
.

Now how sick is that? If you are thinking of intervening take my advice and dont if she will lie about her sick father she will lie about anything.

People will eventually find out about her

The big question should be is this affecting your job? Are you having to pick up her slack? If not butt out of her business, she will get what she deserves.

It's never good to lie but if she gets another job,you won't have to worry about it....How many times have you heard of someone taking a day off to go to granny's funeral ? If you add them up,they have far too many grannies !!!!!!!!!!!!
