Hi there peanutbuttermilkshake, That is so not true. I never loved my youngest child more than my other children....I love them all equally!!!! Sometimes the youngest child is probably 'babied' a bit more than the others simply because they are the youngest and they need it. All of the older children would have had the same treatment in the past when they were younger. I am sure that you will find that the majority of parents love their children all the same!

I think a normal person/parent would love each child equally. My mom favors my brother who is the middle child. I'm the eldest, she favors me least. The youngest is her baby yes, but she adores the middle one. She's never been fair with me when it comes to anything. Just doesn't make any sense. I won't treat my children that way- I've learned from my mom's mistakes. I really honestly don't understand how parents can be that way.

As a parent, I can't imagine loving one kid any less than the other kid.

Now to be honest, I get along with my step daughter alot better than my step son, but, I love them equal and spend equal time with the both of them.

Maybe they realize it's the last baby in the house so of course the are going to ben the rules and spoil the youngest one!! I was the one in the middle and it seemed my younger brother of 4 years difference got all the same benefits as me. I did not get it?

Im sorry but i disagree with that, im a mum of 4 daughters, aged 15,13,8 and 4, my youngest isnt loved anymore than any of my other daughters..I love them all the same and spend time with each of them .Its common sense that as babies and toddlers that they need you more but each child has been looked after and cared for the same and all had the same needs and demands met as babies etc.

Most kids are lucky to be loved at all these days.My dad told each one of us he hated us, cursed the day we we're born, and wish we'd all been drowned at birth. Its been 40 yrs and he still tells me he hates me.I think it feels like parents love their youngest child most.I think its the child who feels most confident that gets all the positive attention while the less confident siblings are left out, so they feel like they are unloved or less favoured.Other than that...I don't really know.Sorry.

I don't know that they do. But the youngest is -- well -- younger, and needs more care. Nothing to do with loving the youngest more.

Because the youngest is their baby come what may!
For now, she or he needs more attention than anybody else in the family
