Its' been 2 weeks but it's still very hard to deal with my bf leaving me while I'm 7 mos preggo. He wanted this baby as much as I did. I am a responsible adult with a great job and I know things will be okay. It wasn' t that strong of a relationship at times and then things were good. I don't know if he got scared or if he ever really loved me. I know he's lied to me and I'm not sure if there's someone else. I have always done everything for him, even when he was short on money. To say the least, yes he is a loser, but i miss him and I still love him. I know I'm better off, he just acts like nothing phases him. I feel very vulnerable and alone, even though my friends are supportive. Family is far away but they are going to be here for the birth ,It's hard to stay strong. I just want answers which I know I'll never get. How does someone just abandon their supposed loved one and unborn child.

Tomorrow my sister is taking my mom to court for custody of her daughter and that a veary bad thing. My sister is not a mother she's a mom and by that I mean she was only there for the birth and after that wanted nothing to do with the baby me as a 17 year old teenager am a better care giver to this baby. She uses drugs, married a man for money (he pays her x amout to be with her so her can get his papers) and now so that thes man can look good in front of INS he wants her to take back the baby. And to thoese of you that think she'll change and cares about Mia (the baby) she gave her to my mom for a car. Please pray that the courts wont give her to my sister.

So, he can go to a music concert! He asked by e-mail if I could possibly change it. He said that he was "hoping to go" and if I can't change it, "I totally totally understand." He didn't make it sound like he already had tickets as the concert is at a county fair, so I think he was going to wing it and see if he could get tickets the day of.

Is it wrong for me to be upset? My daughter was a preemie. It's a miracle that she's even here! To be putting himself before family to me is just assinine. What say you?

I can't adjust the time, as I purposely planned it in the evening after the dinner hour as it's just cake, ice cream, and gift opening. My sister also works that day, so I planned it to be in the evening so she could come. Ugh....this is so irritating.

the way she met him was when she was well...a hooker
and he was her "client"
i made a big deal out of hating him becuase of that and they've been going out for a year and i still have'nt met him
im not sure its right to judge him becuase of how they met and just in general the effect hes had on my mom
so i was thinking of letting him meet me
but while doing something i enjoy so i dont waste the whole day if i end up not likeing him still
also im living with my dad now, and he doesn't want me meeting him or especially hanging around with him.
i said to my mom i was thinking about letting him meet me
but i can't tell my dad if i do.
which just feels really wrong, becuase i dont like lieing to him
so to get to the point i was wondering what all of you think would be best meeting him or not..i mean hes a big part of my moms life now but im just not sure..
what would some of you do in this situation.*?

Hi there,

I am 25 years old and I have 3 kids of my own, I live in a long term stable relationship with my soon to be wife (we get married in two weeks) I just say she's my wife anyway but technically she's not for another two weeks.

I have a 12 year old sister, who my parents find very, hard and difficult and they are at their ends with her. I already have her on a respite basis 3 days a week and alternating weekends, but the thing is I think my parents want me to keep her permanently as they both now have health problems and they are been made worse by my sisters behaviour.

My parents have skirted around this asking general questions and making passing comments relating to me keeping Chloe, but have not came out and asked me directly if I would keep my sister.

I have already talked to my partner (wife in two weeks) about this and she agreed that taking into consideration my parents failing health, my sisters behaviour and the passing comments that my parents have made about us keeping my sister that it is probably best for everyone if we were to adopt her. My wife also really likes my little sister and they get on really well together and my sister has said in the past when she has been here for her respite visits that she wished she didn't have to go home.

My question really is would I be allowed to adopt my sister when my parents were still alive, (I want to stress here that my parents HAVE MADE passing remarks about me keeping her) and would me and my wife be considered as adoptive parents for a 12 year old when we are only 25, and how does it stand on adopting a family member?

If you have any information that you think you can share then I would be eternally grateful, because I am just trying to build up a picture before I bring the subject up with my parents. Even though they have skirted around it I want to be sure what I am talking about, or at least sure enough to approach them with it, so thanks for all your help

PLEASE DO NOT JUST LEAVE SARCASTIC COMMENTS I REALLY WANT TO FIND OUT SOME INFO and I don't want to start going through official channels until I am sure in my head what I am doing

I have not spoken with my grandmother all summer. My mother passed away a few years ago, and since then she has been overly critical of our family, and was coming over uninvited every single day, which was annoying but livable. At the start of the summer however, she got ten times worse, and after one to many rude and mean comments I quit speaking to her.Now however I feel that I should attempt to contact her or make things right in some way before I leave for school, because even though she was the one in the wrong she is stubborn and would never reach out to make things right. How should I go about this? Or should I even bother?

my mom's giving me $100 a month for food, makeup, shampoo, conditioner, clothes, and everyhitng i need. and like the movies and stuff. i'm only 14! its not like i should be payingfor myself! where i live, you can't get a job until you're 16 and i don't get allowance or christmas or birthday money or anything. we're not poor, either. my stepdad's got like a million dollars in his savings account. plus my mom spends like 3 thousand dollars a month on her stuff. and it really is IMPOSSIBLE with only $100, so do you think she's being unreasonable? how much should i get?

My little brother spends the summers with me but during the rest of the year he lives in wi with my mother in bad housing with her addict boyfriend. He isn't abused just lives in a paranoid parent who never lets him leave the house alone or spend time with friends. she will not let him come here to live even though his quality of life would be greatly improved. is there anyway around her desicion? its not healthy for a kid to be trapped in his house all the time. my mother has ptsd from losing her other son to a swimming accident 9 years ago and now will not let my brother do anything. She even threated him that he cannot even leave once he turns 18 witch is rubbish. is there a way to gain custody? is it done often and is a great battle? even though he is not abused? just lives in a bad situation? my mom has two full time jobs but barely pays rent and has her utilities turned off a lot. anyone know anything about this?

He's giving me a headache, hitting me and acting like a brat! What should I do? He's 3, by the way. ^^

Okay; my mom has this psycho dog(an evil black toy poodle)- It hates everything and everybody except for my mother. Ever since she got the dog it has barked growled and snarled at me. When it barks at me she blames me for upsetting it and I get yelled and screamed at literally she has told me to shut up at the top or her lungs. She says I intimidate it, but I honestly don't- all I do is walk past it and it gets scared and barks at me. I am on vacation and I told her that her dog was stupid and now she is upset and bought herself AND her dog a ticket back to home; we haven't even been on vacation for more than a day!!! Also it seems that she has lost all her love, respect and compassion for me over her dog. I don't know what to do...

I am a single mom with a seven year old daughter. Up until 6 months ago we lived with my parents and siblings, we also shared a room. Six months ago we moved out with my long term boyfriend. Her father is rarely in the picture and she prefers not to see him. My daughter is a wonderful, shy, smart girl. Her one fault is bedtime. She usually goes to bed alright, but I can't get her to stay asleep through the night. She wakes up crying and scared. She wants me with her. She spends alot of weekends at my parents house. She loves it there, and I think its mostly because my mom sleeps with her when she is there. My question is...do i go in and sleep with her when she cries to comfort her? Or do I let her cry and tell her she needs to sleep alone. There has already been so many changes for her recently, I have a hard time doing that. Please lend me your advice. Thanks.

Ok so I met my dad when I was 16 and moved in with him when I was 17, 2 days before my 18th birthday he kicked me out because I'm not respectfull enough for him. I'm 19 now and I moved back in with him in April because he couldn't afford the bill by himself. Ever since I moved in with him he bosses me around and treats me like crap. The power bill is in my name because he has a huge bill. Anyway I stopped staying at the house at the beginning of June because he put a gun to my chest one night when he was mad at me. I have recently found my own place that I move into next Wednesday but I don't know how to tell my dad that I'm moving out. I have been paying rent even though I haven't been staying there so he wont get kicked out. I wont be able to do that now though. I am kinda scard about what he will say/do. I don't want to get the cops involved because of him being my dad. So does anyone have any advice?

I am a single mother and a few months out of a fairly long relationship.I have met a few men, but it is my "policy" that none of them meet my seven year old son. They are all "friends." We are not in a committed or sexual relationship, but some of them are offended by this. Should they be?

We really don't know this family at all. They just moved to town a couple of months ago. My daughter spent the night there earlier this week. They live in a brand new house, that is very nice. They have a daughter that is my daughters age and then two little boys under three. They would be going to a lake resort about two hours from our house. I am not sure if I should even consider this or not. My daughter is a good kid and is very smart, but she likes to flirt and be in the in group. I am worried about not having enough supervision and her getting into trouble with boys. What do you think??

Ok, I live right around Philadelphia (city of brotherly love, amirite?) and one of my favorite things to do is shoot some b-ball outside of my school with my friends. A few days ago, though, a couple of guys who were up to no good started making trouble in my neighborhood. I thought it would be safe to go out and play with my friends, but while I was out I got in one little fight, and when I told my mom she got all scared and started talking about sending me to live with my uncle and auntie who live near Los Angeles. I tried to talk to her about it but she was too busy drinking a fouty and eating fried chicken to listen. What should I do? I don't want to live in California because I heard from hal turner that there are gay men who will rape you in the street!!!

My mother is just beginning the process of divorcing my step-father of 7 years... She discovered his online cheating for the 3rd time and is fed up of giving him chances to redeem himself... Well everything is going to have to change for all of us (5 kids, one is his)... How do I help her through this??.. other than helping with bills, stuff around the house and with the rest of the kids...

Also, I was planning on moving out by mid next year when after getting married... would that be abandoning her in a time of need??

I just told her he was not feeling well and has to get better. I feel horrible. Who cares about me! I just wish she is okay on the inside. Its hard to tell how she feels, she is so small but so smart too.

Some of his concerns are ligitimate some are crazy. He says he needs to make more money (true), I'm not healthy enough (crazy). I'm 36, he's 39 We have a 12 year old child. We've been married 4 years I can't have kids. He was a more or less a single father when I met him. His last wife went through what sounds like a extreme post-partum depression and he says that having to step in and do almost all of the child care and housework even though she didn't work this led to such resentment that it destroyed their marriage. She also gained weight (4 or 5 st.) and I wonder what part that played. I've met the woman and I think she was crazy from the start. The problem is he's driving me and himself crazy now. I'm going nuts because I feel like he's comparing me to his ex. I've had a mild depression and I'm not the best house wife, but I'm the bread winner. I'm a good stepmom . Sadly I've gained weight, maybe 3 stone but so what! How do I get him to decide. This has gone on for too long
