I have twin boys. They both just turned 20 years old. One of them goes to the university as well as works full time. He has turned into a dependable and responsible adult. It is his choice to work full time as well as go to school.

My other son does not work and refuses to go to school. Both my husband and I work so no one is home during the day. I suspect my son that is at home spends most of the day sleeping and playing video games. He will help out with chores around the house but only if I ask him to do so. My son that works pays him $20 a week to clean his room. I have tried cutting him off financially----just short of kicking him out on the street. I would prefer not to do that. However, since he receives $20 a week from his brother, that doesn’t seem to bother him. Also, the son that works keeps him supplied in Pepsi. He just seems too content and too happy for someone that is unemployed.

Ok, my sister's boyfriend is a jerk (to put it nicely so the question doesn't get deleted). He told my sister he was going to the zoo with a friend and her son and would be back by the time she got home from work. Before he leaves (this is after she has already gone to work), he tells my mom they are going to the zoo, but aren't going to be back until Sunday (he said this Friday). Then when he comes back, he tells my sister that they decided to go to the beach instead which is in the other direction than the zoo. Obviously, they had already planned this. They stayed at the beach in one hotel room from Friday night to Sunday morning. This is just the latest in a neverending saga which leaves my sister ready to kick him out of the house. That is until he gets home. Once she sees him, she gives into him. Would you let it run its course and keep letting her make stupid choices, or would you approach her and tell her she's not the only one tired of his crap, and she needs to do something?

My older sister moved in with me and my husband after divorcing her husband. She is now single, with no children. The arrangement was that she would pay $300 and share in the bills. However, she has not paid me in months! She also refuses to follow simple rules. Like not having her ex husband (who we hate) in our house. I do not want to kick her out, but I am starting to have problems with my husband. What do I do?

My mother will not leave my money alone! I'm 26 with a good job and a little debt. Mom is an accountant and she is constantly on me to look at my bank statements and checkbook so she can budget me. Everytime she does, I get the same "you should..." and "why don't you...." and "I can't believe..." I've had it! How do I tell her to mind her own damn business and let me be a grown up and deal with it myself.

My daughters 7 months old and the only word my mother in law tries to get her to say is mama. She says things like wheres mama, and whos your mama.. its making me soo mad, should I say something, or should I let it go? We see her everyday, so my biggest fear is my daughter calling her mom.

she will go bk and tell people everything that i told her. i don't tell her anything too personal, but some stuff isn't necessary for her to tell other ppl. i told her that I was looking around in an area and she went and told everyone that my husband and i WERE buying a house, even tho that wasn't the case. she gave me a hard time because I don't call her for mother's day even tho she is only my grandmother. I don't wish anyone happy mother's day because I didn't even grow up with my mother. she tries to pry into more personal areas in my life such as my marriage and how many times I call my best friend and speak to her and what I speak to her about. Years ago, I briefly lived with my grandma and walked in the kitchen to hear her and her sisters talking about me. that really hurt my feelings. the times when I have called her she starts sqealing on the phone and say praise the lord!! am i wrong for not wanting to speak to her?

My husband and I have reconsiled about 9months ago. He was unemployed and still is. The agreement was that he would take the kids to school, ect. and get a part time jog to make ends meet. Well, I am sick and tired of him not working and seriously, the bare min, gets done around the house.

After a big fallout yesterday, he turned it around and said he was wating for a side job in Aug. But still was not clear as to what he is going to do till then. He made the comment that I made enough money and it would be nice if I gave him some funds to go and have some quality time with kids that it would make him feel more of a man.

He said that he wants me to make a budget so he can see the "big piichure".I told him I would but honestly, I am not confortable with it. I feel that I should tell him that once he gets a job and gives me all his money, then we can "share our money" and work out budgets.

Do you think I should share my finances with him? Whats your op.on this?

Children are not being given the freedom to play out unsupervised with their friends because of adult fears over their safety, a survey has revealed.

Research for The Children's Society found 43% of adults think children should not be allowed out with their friends until they are 14 or over, even though most of them were allowed to play unsupervised from the age of 10 or younger when they were children.

The survey, which forms part of the charity's Good Childhood Inquiry, also found that more than a fifth (22%) of over-60s thought children should be over 16 before going out on their own.

Do you let your children play outside unsupervised?

yes or no

*plus*

What age do you think a child is responsible enough to be on there owns with out adult supervision ?

If so, where do you find your motivation to clean every day? I love it to be clean, I get so discouraged when I spend a lot of time cleaning and then my children ransack the clean area. So I feel like quitting altogether. I know I can't, but some days I want to scream! KWIM?

My sister-in-law does not make her kids wear seatbelts. They are 3, 5, and 10. When I ride in the car with them my SIL drives and I really want the kids to wear their seatbelts. Do you think she would get mad if I turned around and told them to put their seatbelts on? Any advice on a nice way to approach it? I have told my husband they need to be wearing their seatbelts (my husband and I both do), but he won't say anything to his sister. I feel like the kids lives are in danger. If we had a wreck I'm sure they would be seriously injured, if not killed.

My father passed away in January after a very long bout with altzheimers. He was in a nursing home for almost a year. She came to live with us (me,hubby, and 2 kids). for about 10 months

she has always been a heavy drinker but when my father got sick she started even more. Now she has moved into her own place and starts drinking at about noon.
when i have talked to her about this she tells me that she has no responsibilities, she does not drink and drive and she does not see a problem with it.

She thinks she has nothing to live for. She has never been a big "kid" person so please dont suggest that she spends more time with the kids.

she never calls me, but waits till i call her then gives me guilt that i did not call her sooner.

what can i do? i know she is going to drink herself to death but i dont know what i can do to make her better. Its tearing me apart inside!

I have a friend who is 24 years old still works at Kroger. Thje only car he owns is because he wrecked his moms van after he had it for a year. The van was worth 4000 dollars he had it for a year and only paid mom 200 dollars. after the wreck hi mom wrote off the payments for 1000 so he bought a car with the remainder. Now He actually saved money for a motor cycle . Recently he started bragging about this and that and had the nerve to ask me and my GF why we are broke. my GF have live out of moms house since we were 18 and have payed our bills accordingly but have little extra cash so he thinks were broke. He pays a total of 140 to live at moms housxe a month and then only has insurance to pay for. Also His sis is almost thirty and still living at moms house as well. whos wierd me or him and should I be mad.
