As long as you have proof that the cambelt was changed when it should have been, it'll be fine.

Hi, if yours has the same engine as my peugeot (2 litre hdi) it doesn't need doing until 96,000 miles so long as your car has done less than this then you should be ok but I would check with your dealer as my car is a 2001 plate.

Please bear in mind that no cars are safe when it comes to cam belts as they can go on any car. We had a vectra 2.2' on a Y plate (2001) and when enquiring about the cam belt change at about 80,000 miles we were told it didn't ever need doing as it was a chain and not a belt. At 106,000 miles the chain broke causing horrendous damage. The delaer nor vauxhaull would stand by the car as it had done over 100,000 miles. The car was only 3 and a bit years old at the time and had been serviced by the main dealer every 10,000 miles. The car was sold for £1200.

We had a sister car to this and vauxhall replaced chain and tensioners free of charge on that one. Unlucky, a bad car or maybe faulty parts which vauxhall are renowned for. YOU DECIDE lol

great cars one of the best Citroen have done, they have Peugeot diesel engines fitted in them which are super reliable but I would have cam belt changed just to be on the safe side, should cost around £200 to get done .

The cam belt should be changed at 60,000. See the proof. If it goes, the valves vill proably get bent, the you need an engine rebuild.

If it was me I would have the cam belt changed in any case so I knew it was okay and when it would need changing again

Well best thing is to ask the car dealer to provide you with evidence that it is safe. ie service history etc. other than that go and put it in for a service for your piece of mind.
