my cousin keeps sending me digusting text messages such as "would you be my whore?" i try to tell his grandma but she thinks it's funny(he lives with her), show my dad and he calls him warning him not to continune(pardon my spelling) but his grandma calls and tells me off for getting my dad involved, so he comes back with more filthier messages witch i am not going to reapeat on this question but the words in it do contain a c at front and a t at end. i really need help. i'm sceard if i go to police this could break up my family as my aunt will tell some cottonball story turning my gran and other members of my family againt me. help.

You are scared this could break up the family? What family?? Your cousin, grandma, and aunt all sound crazy! Do what you have to to protect yourself. Your cousin could possibly get violent. Save all his messages and go to the police..

You're scared that going to the police will break up your family but what kind of family relationship is there now? You have to decide how important you are to you. You can continue to deal with these demeaning messages or you can do something to stop them. It's your call.
Will other people be affected? Yes they will and there may be some family feuding because of it. However, as adults they have a responsibility to safeguard their kids. If that's not happening, if the grandmother is condoning this kind of behavior, she needs a wake up call. Talk to your Dad. Tell him you want to go to the police. He may back you up and go with you.
Keep the text messages as evidence. Report the messages to the phone company as well. He's abusing the service and they have a legal responsibility too. There is no reason you should have to deal with this kind of harrassment. Stand up for yourself, let them know you won't take it anymore. Tell them the next time you recieve a message like that you will take it to the police. If it happens again, they obviously don't care about the outcome so do what you have to do to protect yourself. Make good on your promise and let them deal with the consequences or their own actions.

save all of the messages he sends you and take it to the police it will not be your fauly if the family breaks apart
if they turn against you then so be it - they cannot blame you for him sending you such filth and for his grandma to go along with it is not right. You will be better off than to have relatives who think of it as a joke
if you dont report it may lead to something more
change your number and give it to only people you can trust in your family

save the text messages and have your dad take you to the police station and file a report the police will be able to see the messages and it will help you. then i would get a restraining order on your cousin so he cant call you or come near you and if he does he goes to jail. It seems to me that he has a lot of problems and needs a head shrink. But let your dad take you to the police station belive me yu will be glad you did and have them file for restraining order for you becuase if you dont he could potentially get violent and rape you or kil you. So think of yuor saftey and go with your dad to the police

I know you may take this wrong but if you take this in stride then you will really like the out come
when you get the text find a cop, prostitution is illegal and so is pimping give him a good scare but press charges if you have too. then there always getting dad to make a personal apprence. if it where my daughter I would be furious. and if all else fails get your number changed and just give it to a select few and don't let him know you even got a phone.

you are doing nothing wrong by going to the police, your cousin is in the wrong.. and your family should not go against you if you tell on him (heck they should have done something in the first place) so i wouldnt be worried about breaking up your family b/c you arent apperantly that close (your grandmother is LETTING him do this to you .. or his grandma.. whomever)!!!
