I am really sick, but I have missed a lot lately.
My throat is really scratchy, and I'm very "stuffed up."
It also hurts really bad to cough.
My whole family has been sick lately, but how can I convince them to let me stay home? I really feel bad, and I haven't been able to sleep tonight.

I am 15 years old, with not a very big father figure in my life due to my parents being divorced, so I have this uncle who is trying to take my place as a family member and as a father. IT IS NOT going to well. He is obsessive, calls me a liar, twists my words and calls me a **** up. Now, don't get me wrong, he means well, but he dosen't act out his feelings well. Every little thing I say is a lie to him and he lets me know it

So I made a plan with a family member and a family therapist. It's this method were if he starts harrassing me, I can say"While I respect your comments, I just cannot take you twisting my words and calling me a liar anymore, im sorry, but if you will act toward me like this I must hang up, please refer al comments to my mom. I did this tonight, and he went CRAZY! He came to the house (11 at night) calling me a punk, and demanding he be let in. After a short verbal skrimish and a police threat, he left. What should I do? Did I do the right thing?

my boyfriend has a 10yr old daughter. I have been in his live since she was 5. She will not talk. I have never been able to talk to her. I have to use a pen and a paper. It sucks taking her out to eat cause she will not say what she wants. She will only talk to him. She has selective mutism. I hate when she comes to visit and I am stuck with her. If she would talk we could have more fun. She is also so in love with her dad. Its a little weird. We just had a daughter together. I just am lost in to how to get her to talk to me or my son. My boyfriend is of no help. He does not understand that I do not know her. So really how can I like her. All she does is stare at me. Then she will go talk to him in another room. What do I do. I do not want her coming for vacation and staying with me. Plus, she will not talk to my baby. My baby does not like her to hold her cause she exspects her to say something. She only talks to the baby in another room with her dad there. HELP!

If he is not gay, I will be surprised. He is actually "flaming" so to speak and is 18 yrs old. His dad thinks the reason he is not hanging out with girls is because he is focused on going to college and more interested in singing which he loves to do. He belongs to the musical groups and goes with girls, but has never really been interested in the women so to speak.
I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt it. How long does it take a person to "come out" and what is the best way to let someone know their preferences is ok with me? I think he is a great kid, but this will go over like a lead balloon in this macho like family full of 5 uncles and 4 brothers.

Well, I kind of having eating problems and I think I'm very ugly and fat. The school social worker says I'm not and she's going to call my parents to tell them that they need to support me more so I won't have a distorted image of myself. I don't want her to, because my parents are very strict and they will yell at me...Is she allowed to call my parents without my permission even though I'm 13?

My son is 6 and thinks his dad is my boyfriend (who I have 2 other children with). He has been raised by my BF for 5 and a half years. His real dad left when he was a baby. I have never talked about this with him. I am worried he will be more upset if I wait to tell him. But at this age will he understand? I am looking for real advise, please do not answer if you have nothing to offer.

My brother is defently going out of his mind. he pushes, he yells and screams, he runs off. see, our father died and our mum is on the verge of dying. my brother won't accept it. me, my 13 year old sister, my 16 year old sister and my 17 year old brother tried to talk to him. he won't stop behaving this way. everytime we try to talk to him, he runs off. he refuses to talk to anyone unless he gets emails on the computer, but besides that, he refuses to talk to anyone. he won't listen to us. it seems like he's pushing us away. he made my 7 year old brother and my 5 year old sister cry. he's insane. i don't know how to stop him from doing this. he runs off everytime i mention to him about seeing someone. what should I do? Why is he doing this?

I want to share this sorrow to you guys. Living without my father for over 11 years has been a nightmare, ever since my stepfather appears in my mom's life. I always get depressed everytime they fight, he's a horrible man, he abuse me verbally and emotionally, thank goodness not sexually, the abused me phisically once. I always do his job because he doesn't know how to use a computer, instead of cheering me up, he always screams at me, insult me like I'm not worth it, I'm not good in anything that I do, etc. The worst of all, my mother doesn't defend me, she always say this to me: "Just ignore him". Do you think that that is a way to defend a daughter who is abused emotionally and verbally? I'm a extremelly sensitive person and she knows that. She never listens to me, she doesn't support me on anything. I need some counsel. Thank you. Kiss, kiss

Ok my ex- step sister is going to loose her 4 kids, ages 10, 8, 2 1/2, and 1 - 3 girls and the 2 1/2 year old is a boy. I know the two oldest very well they call me auntie, I don't want to separate them so we will be taking all four. The oldest is 1 year behind in school, the 8 year old in 2 years behind in school and I don't know to much about the other two. So if I do take them should I be a stay at home mom or work and send the little ones to daycare/preschool type to make sure they get skills like playing with other kids, cuz everything thing else I can teach them (colors, numbers etc) and how do I get the other girls caught up in school? A big plus is where I live the girls will be able to stay in the same elementary school.
The other child will be my 13 year old step son (whom I consider my son) who is going to move in with us in June.

it seems innocent enough, but he thinks it is funny to be naked in front of others (kids in his home) and even though he was told this was inappropriate, he took pictures of his sister and he friends (they are 5 and 6) in their panties during a sleepover. At what point should the parent be concerned?? And what should she do? I am hoping that I am just paranoid, but anymore, we have to be. Advice??

My boyfriend is the epitome of wat my parents would hav imagined as my ideal guy, I met him 2.5 ago and we've had an idyllic relationship. Now I am 20 yrs old. I've been to his house a multitude of times and he has never been to mine, although I have sneaked him in a couple of times. My parents don't approve of him coming home, and although they meet him very often and get along very well, they just don't want him setting foot in our home. We are not such a homey family and don't always have people at home, but we've never left anyone on the doorstep and it pains me whenever he comes to see me, and even if it's raining, we have to converse on the doorstep or the drive. It's shameful and I'm just sorry for him. He has sort of accepted the fact and doesn't question it. How do you think I should convince my parents? I've tried real hard and had no positive answer till now. Is anyone passing thru the same ting and do you have any tips? Anything is appreciated!!
