I dislike my father for many reasonable reasons. He's constantly arguing with me and my family and picks fights with no reason at all. At some moments I realize how much I hate him because of who he is. It might also have to do with him never being there when I was growing up and trying so late in the game to be "good" friends. He has a temper problem and drinks a lot, not as much as a alcoholic but still enough to affect his behavior. He's aware of all these things but refuses to do anything to solve, so my family can live a happier life. He curses a ton which I dislike a lot, talks about others in his family badly when they're not there, and he is somewhat racist. All these make me hate him and the feeling is only getting worse as I get older. I don't think leaving without solving anything and moving on with my life is the best thing. What are my other options if he refuses to at least try to change. Iv'e already tried talking to him about and it never changes a thing.

smoking the reefer, how on earth do I talk to him about this without feeling angry or causing an argument. I know I have to put my foot down and be a mother, not a friend....help, any other mothers handle this matter and have a positive outcome.

I am twelve years old and my friends always go out to the mall together. My mom won't let me ever go shopping with them becasue she thinks I'm just "spending money". Well, that's not exactly the point - its spending money to GET THINGS. She won't let me ever go and my older sister, who can drive now, goes out practically every day after school to buy stuff. She makes me so jealous! Plus, my friends all have phones and she won't let me get one. My father was going to get me one becasue we had a contract that allowed you to get a free phone, but then we realized we had already used it. So he was GOING to get me a phone! And now I can't get one. Please help me, I am really frustrated.

I have a nine year old who wishes to live with me more than anything, but her mum wont let her. i thought rather than going to court, she could legally make her own decision at her age.

She has put me thru he**. I have been in debt paying stuff off for her. She steals my car keys when I am sleeping at nite and drives all over in my car. She has no job, although she got a interview at Walmart yesterday and went for her urine test.
We live in an all white rural area and she brought a black boy home yesterday from Chicago. She says she is dating him.
She steals money out of my money jar in the kitchen. She sleeps til noon and will not get up to answer the phone. She disappears for a week at a time and it used to worry me but not any more and frankly, I am soo totally sick of her. It will be a relief when she gets out. Am I evil or should she just get out?

I have my own studio. A situation has come up @ my familys home: My parents rent the house they live in from my grandparents. My grandparents decided that they want the money from the extra house. They want to sell to my parents or my parents need to move. My dad called me w/ this problem & told me my family cant afford a mortgage. He asked me this: He will turn the garage into an apartment for me & if I would rent it out from them so they can pay the mtg. It would look like a regular apartment w/ my own entrance, kitchen & bathrm, ect…so it would be NICE except it would be in the garage of my parents house! Pros: it’d be cheaper & I’d be helping my family out. Cons: it’d be smaller & I’d be living NEXT TO my parents! My family doent want to leave. I dont know about moving basically, IN w/ my family again. What about my HUGE shopping addiction I keep a secret? Theyll SEE me with shopping bags! What about having GUYS over? What if they could HEAR me, YOU know what I mean! I just turned 21, I want to party! Are they going to be questioning me all the time? I LIKE having my own place. But what if I have to say “Lets hang out at my place, but its in my parents garage…” Will I be loosing my freedom? I dont know! Please help?

Hi. I live with my sister and dad (divorce). Me and my sister get along ok (we have the occasional sibling fights, but thats about it). Lately she seems to be following the trend of low-rise jeans. Frankly I wouldn't care, except she's ALWAYS SHOWING HER BUTT OR HER UNDERWEAR!

Honestly, some days if say we are doing spring cleaning, I'll unintentionally get half mooned at by her or find out what color underwear she is wearing. I feel tempted to yell "crack kills" or make fun of her underwear, something like that.

Real reason though, I care for my sister and she being 16, I do not want other guys (or older men) to look at her as a sex toy.

How should I convince her to stop wearing low risers, or at least get a belt? One of her female friends once stuck a pencil down her underwear (and I was the one to point out minutes later), but other than that, nothing seems to deter her from wearing them.

*Sigh* Seriously I am tired of seeing her underwear/crack...

Thanks!

He said he wanted to come over but never showed or called. Should I just leave him alone (I have only wrote him once and called a few times He knows I love him and I am not mad.) for a while or should I continue to try and contact him? I think his mother is briawashing him against me. She is getting child support after 14 years. Before this he lived with me every other week since he was 1 year old!!!

I was arranging some clothes in my sister in laws closet and suddenly found some magazines and CDs. The magazines were eroti*c mags and once I checked the cd, it was an ****** one too. She is very young (physically and mentally still looks under-developed) and should not be watching all this..
I found a semi dressed photo of her in the CD as well. Is she sick? Does she need to go to a doctor?? She also has some not-so-appropiate lingerie.

What should I do? Should I show all this to my husband or my MIL? Should I scold her myself? I have done nothing till now and have replaced all of it as I found it.

I had a brief affair which resulted in my child. He never wanted to no and hasn't seen the child since she was 1. He txt me that he loves me and cause i said no to seeing him he sent a solicitors letter to see his child and take me to court. He is a control freak and has said some very disturbing things to me. he has never given any money or bought any thing for his child or even sent a card. He has known where we live for over 5 years. So I was very shocked to get the letter. He is not on the birth certificate and has no parental responsability. If he had been different in at the start of her life I would be only too pleased to involve him. He is a stranger to my child and it has upset her and changed her whole personality. I am very worried. Please help with advice.

I am noticing that a number of forty something people I know are so busy that they go for long periods of time without seeing their retired parents. I find it really sad to see. I think people need to examine their priorities. Is being busy a legitimate excuse for failing to set aside real time for them?
