I am twelve years old and my friends always go out to the mall together. My mom won't let me ever go shopping with them becasue she thinks I'm just "spending money". Well, that's not exactly the point - its spending money to GET THINGS. She won't let me ever go and my older sister, who can drive now, goes out practically every day after school to buy stuff. She makes me so jealous! Plus, my friends all have phones and she won't let me get one. My father was going to get me one becasue we had a contract that allowed you to get a free phone, but then we realized we had already used it. So he was GOING to get me a phone! And now I can't get one. Please help me, I am really frustrated.

-For the mall part, you should convince your mom to let you have a spending budget, and save some of your other money.
-As for getting a cell phone, I was like you. There is a possibility your mom or dad would let you get a pre-paid phone. You buy the phone straight out the store and that's it. You must also buy minutes at the store, instead of paying a monthly contract bill. Your parents can either pay for it (only about $10 and up) or pay yourself (showing you are responsible with money.) Some prepaid services are: T-Mobile, TracFone, Virgin Mobile, Verizon, Cingular and more.
Or a shared Family-Plan contract would work, too.

I feel for ya I am a mommy and My daughter and ehr friend LOVED THE MALL
They use to have to be dropped off their every week end, some times Dessa would buy something but more times she did not spent a dime. I think its a girly thing and I see no harm in it as long as you are with a group of kids she trusts you to be with.
Have you tried to sit her down and say Mom I feel sorta left out and explain why?
I wish ya luck but the phone thing, I think those are way over rated........

You have good parents. Show them that they can trust you with little things, and someday that will pay off. I think they are holding back because you are young, and all of that would have a bad influence on you. Grow, mature, show them they can trust you, and wait. Your parents love you, which is why they are doing this. They want you to grow up to be a great women, bear with them.

Do us all a favor... stop whining!! You're 12! When you get old enough to work go get a job and then you can spend your own money on stupid stuff.
