My parents threatened to take away my laptop if i didnt get better then i did last quarter. Report cards are friday (4/20/07) I dont think I did so well, what should I do?? I really can't have my laptop taken away!

You're going to have to improve your grades. Usually, there is a way to check on your grades as the quarter progresses. Ask you parents if you can have your laptop back for a few hours each day if you bring your grades up fast and keep them up. Then if you get good grades at the end of the quarter, could you have the laptop back for good - see if they agree, then work your butt off. Consequences, consequences.

You can ask your parents if you went to summer school and buckled down if they would let you keep you laptop. If not, then you need to start doing better in school. They really are just looking out for your own best interest. You don't understand now, but you will thank them later. I promise it gets better.

Did you try to bring your grades up? Your not stupid but focusing on the laptop and not your grades makes me wonder about your priorities. Maybe you can bargain with them that if you can keep your laptop you will use it to bring your grades up. Ask your teachers tomorrow how you can bring your grades up and if they will help you do better in the subjects you are having problems with. Other than that, Good Luck.....

i think u should listen to your parents, they don't ask so much and being a parent is not an easy job. You are lucky having your own laptop, some kids they have to share it with family. Be grateful and thank God they didn't ask you to get a job, and pay your own tuition or expenses at school. goodluck!

Or perhaps you can negotiate with them... Laptop are for your studies too... if not how else would you be able to improve yourself?

Suck it up and get better grades.
If you are spending more time on your laptop yapping with buddies and goofing off instead of doing homework and studies they have every right to take your laptop away from you.

and your worried about having your laptop taken away due to grades.

wow. I get all A's. you must really be stupid...but yea report cards are on the same day as yours. And i got a detention on midterm day. Hehe. well...i dont think its going to work out for you this trimester. But the next report cards, if you try erally hard, you might get your laptop back.

it's totally wrong, but my friend used to get home before them and run to get the mail. she would always take the report and throw it in someone elses trash on the way home. That way, they would never see it. you cant act guilty or anything cuz it would totally ruin it. :]
