I am a 40 year old male in a marriage for the "sake of children only". I have been married for five years now and I admit our is a terrible marriage due to the nasty feedback style, constant fault finding over trivial issues, and serious anger problem of my wife.

For financial and cultural reasons, I have to remain in this marriage. We have a child.

My question is:

How do you keep your OWN happiness in a marriage which is only for the sake of children ?

What are your specific strategies ?

Looking forward to your guidance.

Thanks.

What have you done about it. What has your husband done to make it better in your home. Kids are involved here.

Someone told me that it is tradition to have weddings when the hands on the clock are moving up, and funerals when they're moving down. Is this true? If so, how did this originate?

I had dinner at this restaurant with some friends on Saturday. Met this really cute girl, had a few words and then asked her for email. She gave it to me without hesitation.

So... is this a good sign?

Put yourself in her position, would you give out your email address if you think the guy is creepy or uninterested?

I would like to start a relationship with God but my family does not care about religion at all. they do not care anything about it. they never pray nothing, they swear a lot and do bad things and think it's a good thing, even my Mom does it. me and my mom do not have a good relationship because of the way she treats me. i don't talk to her a lot because she is just so so mean to me and she swears to me, tells me she hates me everything. she does not want me to be happy at all. she does not want me to have a life. she is always trying to live my life for me. I want a relationship with God, but If my Mom see's me reading the Bible and she hears me talking to him she will get all mad and everything. I have asked him Into my life before, but I didn't have a true relationship with him because of my Mother. I want to ask God Into my life again, but when I do I do not want to sound like I don't mean what I am saying when i do, It's just because of everything I am going through with my Mom, she makes me sad and sometimes when i talk to people it seems like i don't mean what I say, so i don't want to ask God Into my life and sounding like I don't mean what I'm saying to him. But I do want to have a relationship with him. I want to have a relationship with him bad and It sucks how I can't because of my Mom. I don't want her knowing I have a relationship with him,so the only time I can talk to him would be when my Mom's not around and I don't think that would be a true relationship. what can I do? please help,. thank you...

We seperated to give her time to work out her 16 yr olds problems with drugs and the law.We were sweet together and were seeing each other until 6 weeks ago when i asked for more time with her. I felt she was only coming by for sex. She has been experiencing hypomania her doctor says. She refuses to get help or counseling. I know she will eventually crash and the guilt may really hurt her.

My hsuband and I have had privacy and trust issues. he began texting and chatting with other women and I began going thru his phone and stuff just to keep up and keep a tab on what he was doing.finally spoke about and said that he would stop the texting and I would stop the snooping. however, I have relasped on three occassions and have gone thru his phone.this past weekend was one of those relapses. he got a txt msg at 3am , I asked him who it was and he said he did not know. he was a bit drunk and did not check. Well, I checked his phone and it was form a girl saying she must be drunk. I called the number just to make sure it was a girl and the next morning I asked him about it. now , he feels I should work on my snooping issues but I feel he needs to do some work too.he says i should respect his privacy but what defines privacy in a marriage and how should i handle all this, my "snooping" and the fact that each time I look in his stuff I find something.

My husband manipulates me and i fall for it. We have been together for 10 years and I know his financial situation. Well we have 2 small girls I applied for child support. 2 weeks prior the day to see the mediator he would always call and whine and just make me feel bad. He said he wanted the girls more and needed money to keep them and I knew myself he would have a hard time and stupid me felt bad for him. Child support was called at $500 dollars a months. I took $250. After mediation him and I werent friends anymore and he was always mad and blaa blaa. So I guess he got to me. He now doesnt want our kids more. Always complaining of money. I was there for him when his girlfriend left him. In that time I found out he was spending alot of money on her and not our kids. $350 for a puppy $200 for a ring. Now I want the whole $500 in child support. What do you think? What do I have to do?

My three and a half y/o daughter has become quite attached to my boyfriend, we are all very close to one another. She actually has a more loving nuturing relationship with him then her father. However as previously mentioned we are only dating, marrige has been discussed and we both would like to once we have more stability together. Lately my daughter has "slipped" a couple times per day and called him daddy, neither of us have said anything to her as of yet....how should I handle talking to her about this? He loves that she calls him daddy, but I don't think it is right if we aren't married and she still she's her dad occasionally? Am I wrong in this thought? She we talk to her about it at all??
Thanks.

Well I don't disagree with him so I didn't get ben out of shape about it. Last week I got one of those Gazelles to aid in weight loss, Well when my brother and I were talking about it yesterday my husband was saying stuff like she never uses it, its still in the same place and such, Even though I get on it for about 2 miles every day. He just wanted to be mean I guess. Well the real question is what should I do. I already told him that he doesn't need to talk to me unless he has found something nice to say, And that was yesterday afternoon. Any input from other married ppl would help. Thank you.

Getting married in less than 5 weeks and have a serious question. My fiance recently had an encounter with an old boyfriend from 5 years ago. She told me that she was meeting a girlfriend for drinks but come to find out it was with him.

When I found out she was upset and said the reason she didn't tell me was cause I would get mad.
Well I met up with her after she left and she told me nothing was going on but wanted to call off the wedding.
I have a kid and she said she couldn't handle it anymore.
She left and ending up at his house to talk? Say nothing happened and that she wouldn't do that to me.

On Saturday she went out with her friends and I looked at her phone on sunday. She had sent me a bunch of text messages about missing me and loving me. I thought ok, we talked everything is ok. Wrong. When I looked in the recent message list his number was second. The message had been deleted, so I asked and she said she never texted him. I know it was a lie but what do I do?

Me and my bf have been having probs for the past 3 weeks, and since then he told me that we might have to break up. He wants to break up because he said: 1. The relationship is keeping him from being focused at school (and I'm not being focused at work) 2. He just wants to be alone and take time off. But he still wants to be friends after that and come visit if i get my own apt. My question is, he was supposed to tell me thursday what his answer was gonna be (break up or not) then he put it off until Sunday night and still didn't give me an asnwer. We were cool all this weeked, he gave me hugs and kisses, asked how work was, we went to the beach together, and I brought up the question yesterday but he said he still didn't know and would give me an answer later last night, but never did. My question is, that im TIRED being in the dark, sitting here wondering what the answer is gonna be. Should I just break up? Someone told me that "if he doesn't know, the answer is NO." Should I?

I started having a crush on this lady who is going through a divorce. She has one daughter. Off and on she says she wants to try to work on her marriage. So I back off and then she comes strong saying how I have sexy eyes and we even went on a date. Then I tell her I like her and would like to be her man and she gets mad. Why would someone lead you on and then get mad when you want to do something about it?

She said she can't because of her current situation.. seems odd to me.

One week she wants me, the next week she wants me to go away. What is this woman thinking?

We spent the weekend at my inlaws (where my husband's niece spends 90% of her time). As usual, I thought I was going to blow a gasket because of her behavior. She is rude, whiny, disrespectful, wild and disobedient. I have known this child for about 4 years and she is getting worse. Her parents are not together and neither of them really have time for her, so my inlaws have kind of taken her in. She lives with her mother and her 13 year old brother (whom I also hear is unruly), but when she is ready to go to my inlaws house all she has to do is blow a whistle and they are there to get her. When she's ready to go home they take her home, no matter how late it is. She rolls around the floors, she hangs onto furniture, she climbs walls, she jumps off furniture, she even hangs off my husband and his parents like they are gym equipment. I don't understand it. When they tell her to do something, she doesn't do it right away. They have to ask her several times and even threaten her.

I know this may sound like a silly question, but after divorce, some people classify themselves as divorced & others classify themselves as single. Could they be considered as both?

Here's the deal, we got married moved into an extremley bad situation of an apartment (we did not know how bad it was when we looked at it); our upstairs tenants terrorize us and I have to work at 7am each weekday; my husband however can make his own schedule. I am unable to sleep there, there are parties (cops dont do anything), constant slamming, the place smells like garbadge (we had a sewage problem); moral is, I can't live there and have to live elsewhere during the week, my husband understands but I still think it's bad for us; until we find another place, I can't live there but just don't know what to do. We've gotten sick from living there, can't sleep, can't even sit in the living room cause of the noise, yesterday plaster came off the ceiling from neighbors slamming on ceiling.
