I don't know how many of you have seen the movie "When Harry Met Sally", but I remember a scene in which Billy Crystal argued that men can't be "just friends" with a woman. Unfortunately, I'm beginning to wonder if he was right. I've tried being "just friends" with some men, and it usually hasn't worked out. On one occasion, the guy fell in love with me, though unfortunately, I didn't feel the same way about him. Recently, I became friendly with a married couple and their two kids. Unfortunately, the husband wanted more than just friendship from me. A friend of mine told me recently that her husband said that if a man is ever especially nice to a woman, he usually has ulterior motives.I hate to say this, but it seems that just about the only time I can enjoy a nice, platonic friendship with a guy is when he's gay. What gives?

She's coming back for a baptism this week. She was the first girl I ever kissed and I even burned her initials in my arm. I became a widower 2 years ago and am very lonely and also miss the physical side. She is 12 years younger than her husband. She was working in a factory and I get the sense she saw him as a way out. We've talked on the phone and though we have not said it directly we both have hinted that we would be "together". It was actually an unrequited love on my end and not having her was always a regret. We were both 14 when she moved away. That was 20 years ago. I've lost my whole family over the last 5 years. I know its wrong and its ridiculous to look to "Yahoo Answers" for justification, but I'm just curious what people think. We live 2000 miles from each other. I really just think I deserve just one night of happiness. Her husband "should" never find out. He's the only thing stopping me as I would not want him hurt.

I am completely lost - tonight my husband told me over the phone that he would just like to be friends and not in a relationship anymore - he wants to live at our house and have me still work in our business but other than that lead seperate lives and just remain friends - I on the other hand feel crushed and very alone.

Im completely lost as nobody in my family is divorced or even seperated I dont know how I should be feeling right now - I dont know but I suspect he might be seeing someone else or wants to see someone else - in the last 2 weeks he has become very distant and barely even talks to me.

We have been together for 10 years and married for 7 years.

We have a 4 year old daughter I dont know how to tell her whats going on especially when I dont know myself and have never seen this situation in my family before.

Is it fair that he tells me he wants to be friends but still live and work with me?

Can anyone give me advice as to what to do? What steps should I take?

My best friend and I have been living together for about 4 years. I bought my own home about 2 years ago and she's been living with me ever since. We get along great; everything's fine. Anyways, I have been dating somebody for over a year now and we have talked about moving in together. Now, I would never, ever kick my friend out with out her having somewhere to go, but within the next year (probably next March), I would like to tell her, as gently as possibly, that me and so and so want to move in together and would like her to start looking for her own place. How is the best way to do so without her getting angry, or feeling abandoned? She makes decent money, so there's no reason why she couldn't find a good place, but what scares me is she does have it pretty made at my house. I want her to realize she can't live with me forever; that I need to think about my future. Also, I can't do the me, my man and my friend living together thing - that's just weird to me. Any suggestions?

I am an American Arab... I was visiting my family over seas 2 years ago, and they were great... I remember them from childhood - but 7 years later - going back as an adult, I was more of a guest than a family member. I always told my dad that seeing his family was great (and it was) but when I happned to mention (2 years later) in a conversation about letting people go - that I was not really "family to them anymore but more of a guest" my dad got upset - and called me a "Bastard" (which is a big insult when spoken in Arabic).

I love my family... and I wanted them to go back to normal - but lets face it... things change - and I lived in the United States for 9 years- they don;t look at me as one of them anymore... am I right in thinking this? Should I just let them go?

We normally spend time each other 3 times/wk, now it's twice/wk and granted before this spree happened, we spent time almost everyday for 2 weeks. Should I leave him be? He does tell me in advanced that he has plans with his friends, either a week advanced or whenever he's invited. We've been together for a year. Do you think he freaks out about his personal space? We never had arguments/fights until recently, just little arguments-mayb it's that time of the year?
When I asked him why he go out so much, he said he would like to enjoy the summer, because it almost ends. I am now packing up my schedule to go out w/ friends as well. But I want to spend more time w/ him. Should I wait to ask him, and see?
Male opinion is strongly appreciated!

She found a sex toy that I made for masturbation. She got so upset and said I might as well cheated on her. She also said I broke her heart, and that I'm a pervert and now she feels that she was not women enough for me. I love her very much but we are going through tough times and the sex has just been a chore lately. She has since told me I can still stay with her for know but I was told don't tell her I lover her, can't kiss her, can't even touch her. I feel lost in my marriage and have been getting counceling. My councelor said I'm not a pervert. My wife still gives me sex sometimes but claims she was out of it because she takes ambien medication but she still remembers it in the morning. What do I do?

My fiancé and I have been together 6 yrs now and his mom & I have always gotten along great, we would email on a daily basis. They live about 75 mi. SW of us so we don't get down there to see them terribly often but it has always been that way. Then at the end of Oct he finally popped the question, since then it has all been down hill, with his mom. I dread getting e-mails from her now & they only come like once a week at most. She is trying to control every aspect of our wedding. We are paying for everything ourselves, that is how we want it & in turn that means we get to do things how we want to, not meaning I don't want suggestions, but she is out of control, her guest list alone had almost 300 people on it! His sister is going to be a Jr Bridesmaid, it took his mom 1 1/2 mths (after the other Girls) to bring her up to get the dress ordered. She's driving me insane, she has become a Mother-In-Law-zilla. I try to put on a smile & bear it but I'm not sure how much longer I can take it!

We are having a last minute wedding and I have been trying to plan for an outside venue. I found a small arboretum where we can have it but it is $250 and everyone will have to be standing during the ceremony... so it will be a kind of relaxed instead of really formal affair, even though we will be wearing a traditional gown/suit... $250 is kind of steep for a short cermony (15-20 minutes) but I don't really care about that.

The only thing I am worried about is guests will then have to drive about 20 minutes to the reception. Is this a big deal?

Am I crazy to think an outdoor wedding on Sept 1 or 2nd is a good idea. I am soooo frustrated because my mom and my fiance are both against this.. she wants the wedding in a church and all he is worried about is the reception and whether we are going to have a dj! (I don't know why he is hell bent on a dj and no one, no one needs to see his dance moves! lol!) This arboretum is the best I can do on a shoe string budget at the last minute!

My husbands mother is a total evil woman. Right now my husband and I are renting in his sisters ( that she does not live in) house due to financial hardship. We are not on the lease but she is allowing us to stay there so that we can save some money to get us an apartment. The building that we live in, his mother not only lives in but is like the head master of the building. She has a set of keys to every apartment, but feels that since this is her daughters apartment she can come in when ever she likes. She does not like me and does not want me there at all so I told her that I was staying some where else. Now even with her thinking that I am living at another residence she told the landlord that I stay there and the landlord is threatening to evict his sister form the apartment. I dont have anywhere else to go but I dont want anyone to get in trouble behind any of this. What should I do?

Sometimes I get my husband to pick up my pads and tampons. I wrote down the brand name I want and he does it. By now he doesn't need it written down. He gets my birth control 'script too! He's been doing this on occasion since before we were married.

Now he's telling me that the women at the check out give him a look like, "Whoa he's a keeper." I mean, I appreciate it a lot, but a guy who wouldn't do that at least occasionally...well, he's not a guy for me. Is it really that rare?

My daughter has always dreamed about being a cheerleader for her high school team. The tryouts for the squad began two weeks ago. They put the girls through different physical test to see if they are able to cut it as a cheerleader. My daughter seemed to be doing very well and was supposedly a shoe in to make the squad.
When I went to pick my daughter up from rehearsal yesterday the coach pulled me over to the side and explained to me that my daughter won't be able to make the team unless she gets breast implants.
He says that she is gifted but her breasts aren't big enough to keep the crowd or the football and basketball guys interested in what she is saying. He says that if she has the surgery and gets DD she will make the squad and possibly be the head cheerleader. Is he right? Should my daughter really have to get breast implants just to be a cheerleader?

what should i look for when trying to select the perfect cushion cut diamond? should i concentrate more on finding a square cushion as opposed to a rectangular cushion?

if the dimentions of the diamond are not as close to a perfect square, will the cushion diamond loose some of its sparkle?

I remember at my wedding shower, I was asked, "How many children do you plan on having?" I said, none and the room went dark. Like it was a terrible thing to say, sorry, but children are not for me.

His mom doesn't get it. She tried for years to get pregnant with him. My own mother is bright enough to get that I don't want to be pregnant. It's physical trauma, but she still says silly shite like, "you'll change your mind."

Star if you like!

Marriage Joke:

"Ever since we got married, my wife has tried to change me. She got me to stop drinking, smoking and running around until all hours of the night. She taught me how to dress well, enjoy the fine arts, gourmet cooking, classical music, even how to invest in the stock market," said the man. "Sounds like you may be bitter because she changed you so drastically," remarked his friend. "I'm not bitter. Now that I'm so improved, she just isn't good enough for me."
