me and my former friend had been buds since we were in the fifth grade. While transitioning into the ninth grade she ttly stopped talking to me. My mom says its because we have different life styles. when we were in the 5th grade we both went to a public school. but when i went into middle school my mom put me into private school, and she went on to another public school. When i was younger i never really cared for money and the glam life. But now im a teen and i do. my family tends to spend alot of money, and i get what i want when i want it. On the other hand my friends family does not hav alot of money. and she doesnt really have the chances in life that i do. And my mom says that she is jelous of me. I cant help that i boast alot, and hav alot of money. She should still like me as a friend right? i still have the same personality, and i havent changed. Shouldn't we still be friends? And what can i do to get us there?

I really like this ring as my engagement ring, but I'm afraid it may look too gaudy. I don't want it to look fake..is it too big? It is 2ct in the center and 1 ct of surrounding stones. Please give me your opinion, particularly people who have experience with jewelry.

My daughter does not wish to be married in a church. The place she wants costs 2.5X more than my husband and I can spend and she is so upset that she won't talk to us. There are guest list minimums, so we can't just have a smaller wedding in the same facility. How can we find a good compromise? There is a nice place here in town where we could give a lovely wedding/reception in one building (I've done the math) but she won't even look at it. She is not able to financialy contribute to the wedding in a significant amount and I have strict budget limits right now. I want her to have a wonderful day and happy memories but I don't know what else to do. What have other families done to resolve a situation like this? Our weather is pretty unpredictable so I really want her to choose someplace with a roof and A/C (I was married in June and it was 95 degrees with no A/C - not pleasant). Thanks for your help!

After 17 yrs of marriage, I divorced my husband. Overall, he's a good person, good provider and a great father. Some of you may tell me I should have been satisfied. But I didn't feel his love. Yes, he bought me what I wanted (then again, I worked and contributed 50% towards the household). It was never a strong marriage. We were never really affectionate He wasn't there emotionally, he embarrassed me and he wasn't supportive. For example, there were many times I attend family, functions and weddings without him. I always made excuses for him, he's sick, working, etc. The last straw was when he refused to go on vacation w/the family. We have 2 girls. He said he couldn't take off because of work. I pleaded w/him but he said no. So we went on vacation without him. Things were never the same since. I don't know if he was cheating and it doesn't matter now. My concern are the kids. They are acting out in school, at home, I hate lugging them back and forth from homes,

when my parents already told my brother when the planning started that they were not going to be able to contribute finacially. My future sister in laws (lets call her Ann) mom called my mom one day and said "your half the wedding is $7500", my mom said that they couldn't afford that, Ann's mom then said "well, just sign a contract and when your house sells, you can pay us back", my mom then said no again. At that point, Ann's mom very rudely demanded to speak with my dad, who then said no too. My parents have two other weddings to pay for in the very near future and if Ann's parents had a boy, they would have said the same thing. Ever since then, they have been very rude to my parents and my sister and I, who are bridesmaids, have been left out of wedding related functions. My brother is 26, Ann is 22. They are both old enough to chip in for THEIR wedding (which is $30,000) but my brother doesn't make much money and Ann refuses to work. What do you think?

Due to my pregnancy, my fiancee and I decided to get married one year earlier than planned. Unfortunately, this gives us only two months to plan a small wedding. My family is not American, so we are not familiar with all the details.

On the other hand, my fiancee's family, who are American, suggested a traditional wedding. I've got a feeling that my mom and I have to work out all the details.

I do not even know where to start. Do you think I have enough time to plan a small wedding? I cannot afford a planner, as I have limited budget and my fiancee cannot contribute any money at all.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 10 years. We have had two children during this time. I don't feel that we communicate very well. He is very negative when it comes to my ideals, thoughts, wants and needs. Financially he is a good provider. But on an emotional level he sucks. I am always wondering has he stayed with me just for the children or because he loves me. My personality is more aggressive he is very passive. His family has always been neg. from the beginning. However he has stayed. But is it for the children? If he loved me wouldn't I feel more content? I only receive support or attention after I complain. Everything is always about him and his career. Which I have been here taking care of everything at home so he can excel at work. Am I being selfish? I would like more appreciation and attention from him. Is it just not there? He always seems to have more appreciation for a stranger on the street. Not the one that loves him the most.

My friend's ex is has just filed a petition for sole custody of their 10yr old son. My friend is presently attending nursing school. She had been a full-time mother while married. Her ex has had three jobs since the divorce. He does not stay at one job for very long.

are you that pathetic you need to keep screwing up your life and kids life even more? If you fail at it once, ok...but twice or 3 times? you should NEVER get married again.

okay, my best friend really likes this guy who is in our grade and goes to our school. You see, not to long ago, he broke up with this other girl and now he is single again. But...the thing is, my friend doesn't know how to approach the situation because he's her friend which is why I'm asking if any of you have some good advice(flirting, dating, etc.) so that my friend's crush can like her(my friend not the other girl).

I honestly dont understand howsomeone who cheats on the partner they love and can say they do love them and didnt mean to hurt them, i mean did they not think this would hurt them and if they loved them why would they sleep with someone else, and i dont understand why their partners would take them back, any cheaters out there can explain this and make me understand or partners can share their side as to why they forgave them.

I would just like a little reassurance that all of the hard work and stress that goes into planning a wedding pays off.

First, my fiance and I planned to have a semi-destination wedding and get married on the beach in California (one state away/6hr drive) with just immediate family, but his family complained and complained and complained until we changed our plans in order to make them happy. We planned a nice wedding here in town. Now his family is complaining that all of his family is not on his guest list (2nd cousins and such). We can't afford to throw a fabulous wedding for 200 people - 150 is our limit and there were some people that we don't even talk to that we had to cut. One of my bridesmaids tells me how much she hates her bridesmaid dress EVERY time I see her... she was there to pick them out. The other girls love them.

I'm just feeling really stressed right now. Everyone says that the day should be about my fiance and I, but it doesn't feel like it.

We are getting married in a small, immediate-family- only ceremony. Three weeks later we are having a reception dinner at a hotel for about 150 guests. Should I wear my wedding dress at the reception?

Hi, I'm doing a survey and would like to know how many people would date a middle eastern man/woman (ie, do you find people from middle east attractive physically/mentally).

Please state your race and gender. Thanks
