Do you believe that there is a difference in "loving" and "being in love"? I don't. I think it is lusting for one more than another. Or, better to say, "I like you; but, I don't love you." What do you think?

But i feel really disconnected already from my boyfriend and it doesnt feel good at all, its painful and almost is like driving a knife in my guts, i actually feel sick to my stomach..its just hard to still be living together, after knowing ill be moving out soon, ugh, its just not a fun time in my life right now and im not sure how to go about these feelings??...i have trouble with men and need to be on my own, but i will miss my boyfriend alot..so much, i love him. In order for us to have any sort of future together i need to figure myself out first! He said he would wait a few years for me..so i can get my crap together. Anyways, im just sick of this sick feeling and not sure how to cheer up

My wife and I are both 32. We are celebrating our 5th anniversary in October. Everything between us is absolutely wonderful except for one issue that has been gnawing at us for the past 2-3 years or so. The problem is babies (simply put: she's ready for 'em, I'm not), and this problem doesn't just gnaw anymore - it is about to bite us in half. For years we've been having the same conversation: she asks what I think about kids, I say that I'm not ready right now, then some time later she asks "how about now?". Repeat We're both sick to death of the same answer that I give: "I'm not ready right now, but one of these days I will be." I don't mean to keep stringing her along, but I don't know what else to do. I DO believe I'll want kids someday, but I don't know when. I love her dearly - can't imagine wanting anything more than her. She said she loves me too, but she wants children more. Please help.

My parents taught me that I have to be strong, I have to have faith in myself and most of all that I have to love myself, because that is the most important thing. No one can do it for you. Self trust goes a long way!! Be strong and take things in stride, some people are way too serious!! Love yourself first, then others will naturally love you too!!

I am artist/student have been interested in fashion design since the 6th grade. I want to pursue it but my parents keep knocking me down every chance I get. Since I'm an only child it's even harder for me since they are over-protective and only want whats best for me, or at least they think so. I really want to pursue fashion design but my parents are pushing me towards medical school. I'm actually pre-med right now but still have dreams of being a fashion designer. I don't know how to sort this out. Got any advice?

I am married and been with my husband for more then a year now. A male friend of mine who is married too but far from his wife did seek my help to accompany him to process his passport in a government office.
I didn't seek my husband's approval. I just told him that he need not pick me up from work bec I had to help our friend and we have to drive to city. He didn't seem to mind at all.
On my part, I don't feel comfortable now being alone with the opposite sex other then my husband.
Is it still appropriate for me to be in that situation. I wonder what other husbands would feel in this situation.

My wife of 18 years has cheated on me in the past and had certain behavior patterns during those times when as she put it "it was just a kiss", we separated 4 years ago when I caught her in the coffee shop with a man having breakfast, after a 8 hours in jail for disorderly conduct she left the house and 4 months later we were back together, it was pretty good until I started to detect the same behavior 3 months ago, so I left now I miss her (i must be sick) and I keep calling her, before i left she was explosive when i would question her as to why she is witholding love. She in fact had called me a control freak for 15 years but she tuned the tables when she left 4 years ago. when she came home I was kissing *** bigtime and she would "control" me or I should say she would display her power over me by withholding any affection. she uses this because she knows it tortures me. She still waers her ring, but she said dont bring flowers to my work anymore.she says we need to go slow.

Do you believe that the past is something we need to let go off, with its triumphs and heartaches or is it what makes us the person we are today?

I feel that a friend I have is slowly slipping away. I mean, we still talk and share the same class, so that helps. We even occasionally (though not weekly or sometimes monthly) hangout.

I just see that other friends are pulling him away. I mean that as in, they spend more friend time and I'm not sure if hat means my friend relationship with him is fading.

What do you do to keep someone in friend status. I mean, of course, what do you normally do with your friends? I do have other friends, just the history with this friend and all would suck to lose (like all friendships).

What is a healthy relationship these days?? What would be considered "normal" and a "healthy" relationship between a couple, guy/girl, in their early 20's. I haven't had normal, quality, or even very nice relationships, with men for a couple years now. I forget what a gentleman is or even what a respectful guy is for that matter. All men seem to want is one thing(sex, of course). I just want a REAL relationship with a guy, instead of games/sex/lies and weird *** behavior from them! I want something that is true, that can be built upon. What is it with guys?! Or am I just dating BOYS? Any suggestions/advice, would be great. Thanks! :)

My partner is bound to be admitted to hospital for an artroscopy at his knee. Not a big deal by itself, but last time he had a similar operation, 2 and 1/2 years ago, my father was visiting us for a week. He took care of my partner when Jim was dismissed from hospital and we had a great time together. It turned up to be the last time I saw my father "healthy"... He had been diagnosed with infiltrating melanoma and was, himself, admitted to hospital a month later with diffused metastasis and died within a few weeks.
Now, I can't help thinking about his time in our house, how much I miss him, and I am waiting for something bad to happen..
Sorry, not a real question, but I don't know how to get over this feeling...

My boyfriend of four years is always soooo busy with school, work, his fitness training, and college baseball. He never has any energy to go anywhere or do anything! I feel very bad for him when he comes home from a hard day at work beat red from the sun and drops down on his bed because he is exhausted. However, I do feel there are times that he could put me before some of his trips to the gym or before he offers to play baseball for teams on his only day off and tells me he cant go to the lake or spend the day with me when I have not seen him all week. He is still very sweet to me and I know he is doing good things for himself and its not like he is out drinking all night, but i get pissed off when im lonely every day of my life, I feel like i dont even know him anymore. How should I act, Should I be supportive and put my feelings aside, or should I keep getting pissed because i am?

Is it proper for the father of the bride who is hosting the reception to leave the non-smoking ballroom and go to the bar one floor down for a 45 minute cigar to celebrate the marriage.
During this time he will not be accessable to all guests at the reception. He looks at this as part of the celebration.

i had this major crush on my prom date. we are both graduating. he's staying here and i'm leaving. he never told me if he liked me back but all my friends said he did...he just didn't want to get involved since i'm leaving. it wasn't until the last few weeks we actually began speaking again...until then he seemed really nervous to talk to me and made things awkward when we were around each other. but tonight i found out he has a gf now. i guess he asked her out tonight. out of nowhere. idk why but i felt like i wanted to cry. i invited him to my grad party and i'm sure i'll see him at a few that i'm going to but idk how to act around him. advice? comments? i'm just so sad about the whole thing now.
