My brother died recently. I am a high school student who typically makes straight A's but now I just cannot focus on school at all. I have a great scholarship comming my way for college next year, but at this rate I am going to lose it. IN fact, I am supposed to be doing school work right now!

Does anyone have advice as far as how to get through the next few weeks of school, including finals without really screwing up my GPA. When college starts next year I am worried I will not be able to focus on that either.

My brother was really young, 19 and he graduated last year. He had a terminal illness and we have known all his life that he would die young (In case that helps you all understand the situation.)

I am not in the position to buy a house or townhome just yet, so I still have to rent. I was thinking perhaps it may be a better idea to rent a HOUSE instead of an apartment in an apartment complex, etc., because at least in a house, its "stand alone" and I wont have to worry about neighbors stomping on my head, hearing their noise or being subjected to their bad habits that may disturb other tenants.

ALSO, when I go out to have fun or have company over, or a nice young man to spend time with me, I have more peace, quiet & privacy in a HOUSE than an apartment, and I also would not be embarrassed to have company because I will not be around other tenants' "bad habits & nastiness".

Am I right? Or are there disadvantages to renting a house as opposed to renting an apartment, that I am not aware of?

My parents have my brother living with them. He has destroyed their home, drinks, drugs and brings deviant people over to stay there with him. He has taken over the whole second floor. Last year, he was away for 9 months and I went there and cleaned for 8 weeks. found homes for all the cats he brought in the house and scraped cat poop off of floors and made repairs to the house. Now they have let him back in. I was there last week and he got drunk and came after me with a gun and accused me of robbing him. I had my one year old baby boy with me and had to leave in the middle of the night and stay in a motel until my husband could come get us. My mom refuses to put him out and I can not go there with him there. I will not put my child in that situation. I miss my mom and I am heartbroken over this. I have always been a good daughter. I didn't call the police because me dad said it would kill my mother to have cops there. I won't see her for Mothers Day.

I keep hearing from other friends that she is saying things behind my back. Nothing so bad that I felt I needed to confront her, but some of the stuff that I hear is flat out lies, and mostly stuff about my marriage, or how good my hubby is to me. I am not someone who wants to waste time on drama or gossip, I am so beyond that, that I didn't even entertain it. So I just began to distance myself from her, I have not been mean or anything, I just kinda stopped hanging out and talking to her as much. Now a few friends have told me she is telling them how hot my husband is and that he is to hot for me. I am not worried or jealous. My husband is hot! It doesn't bother me that my friends think so. I just don't like the way she is going about it. I feel a bit betrayed, and it really is filling in a lot of blanks about why all the smack talking lately. Now I am to the point where I think I need to say something. What do you think? Should I just be flattered or call her out on it?

Ladies: Think about this for a moment... Let's say you meet a guy across facebook after he 'pokes' you. You don't know him at all but seen him around campus smiling at you and you smiling back... but no conversation. no contact.

All of a sudden you add him as a friend on facebook but have no idea who he is. My question is...
why would you add someone if you don't know the person?

In other words... if you found him physically attractive would you add him as a friend?

If not... and you are just doing whatever you want to do .. then you just add him as a friend?

I know I'm reading into this too much but it would help to know what the hell is she thinking or better yet... what was I thinking?

my x is on remand for doing wrong to my children his there till the 9 july wen his bk up, i feel his family will blame me for putting him there wen ive tried for 18months to get him right but his violent temper got stronger and stronger & his one goal was to take me away from my children as he said they dont deserve me only he does, wen ive told him my family come 1st esp my children, now im just starting to close the gap between my family and me that he caused, i can play music again have laughter and talk to friends and people and have no fear he'l be going of his head that im talking to people and i can be my bubbley self again, i just wish i cud ask why he did those nasty things to my children.

The guy that ive been wanting to start a relationship with for almost 2 years finally expressed 2 me the most romantic things that a woman could hear.Our relationship so far has been purely sexual and he never wanted something more.i was actuallu chasing him to meet and i was keeping in touch.But now he told that im the most important woman in his life and he could imagine spending his life with me and so many other things...But when i asked,so does that mean u want us to be together?he said lets take one step at a time and he didnt say anything specific about meeting up.im so excited by what he said and im really stressed about whats gonna happen next...he sounded very sincere although there were many contradictions on the facts and his view of them.for example he wouldnt admit that it was a sexual relationship and i was chasing him but he says that he knew like i was the one and hes still around...any advice??

I have a good friend who I like as just a friend but who wants to have more than just a friendship with me. I already have a special someone in my life however and my relationship with this other man is becoming quite serious. I strongly doubt that I will be breaking up with him anytime soon (or ever if you catch my drift) so I cannot even consider my just-a-friend as a potential romantic interest. My question is, how do I get this friend to understand that he is only ever going to be just a friend? I value his friendship quite a bit and would hate to make things become awkward by openly discussing the topic with him (as he has not yet actually voiced his interest to me) but I have a feeling there's no other reliable way to make sure he knows my opinion. I would hate for our friendship to be permanently damaged because of this, and I want to take care of this issue as soon as possible. Unfortunately I don't know how long he's had these feelings as I only found out about them recently.

My now ex wife who left me for a coworker 6 months ago after a 15 year marriage called me to ask me a question. We share our kids every other week and she asked if I could keep them a day longer. She told me that her boyfriends grandmother past away and he would really like her to go to the funeral. I said no problem and if she could pass on my condolenses. Did I say the right thing? My wife has confessed to me that she carried on a heavy flirtation for a week. It involved suggestive talk, touching, but when the man asked for a meeting she called it off. When she first told me, I quickly forgave her for what sounded like a close call, but she continues to confess more details to me. store? This woman was my "store friend..she was a mere accaintence to us both but when I was married he The ex looser JO would come home and try to make me jealous! Im in the middle of a divorce (final the end of May), and I started sort of seeing this guy. I told him we could just be friends, even after we slept together, because he was not what I was looking for in a relationship, and he wanted a long-term relationship and I can't give that to him... Now I am sort of regreting my decision and Im unsure if I just want someone or if I really have true feelings for this guy. Hes so sweet and he is here for me through everything that I am going through with my ex, and I just feel so happy and at peace when I am with him. I've heard that guys use this line as an excuse for them not to be with the girl but in other cases, i've heard that this line can be true. Guys separate friendships (with girls) from their love interests, right? Some guys may not want to go out with their friend because it could potentially ruin the friendship....is this all true?
