i have a compaq persario (SR1311NX) its a great computer but i wanted to upgrade it and i need some suddgestion, i already put more memory in but i like to play games, download music and videos, etc. but some stuff just won't work, i would like the computer to be fast, i'm going to get DSL HIGH SPEED, or CABLE, here soon. but wanted to know what else i could do for my desktop? thank you.

i have presario v2000 notebook computer.sys config:
xp sp2 & vista bussiness
512 mb ddr ram
40gb hard disk space.
i have 4 partition in my hard disk,named c,d,e,f.
c=9.5gb
d=9.5gb
e=9.5gb
f=9.5gb
i have two OS in my system,xp sp2 & vista business.i can installed xp sp2 in 'c' drive,vista in 'd' drive.now both drives r full.'e' partition have lot of free space,more than 8gb.
if possible to make resize my 'e' drive(2gb+3gb+3gb)),then move that free space 3gb to my 'c' drive and another 3gb free space to my 'd' drive?any free partition softwares r available to create empty space,then move that empty space to particular drive?

Im wanting to take my older computer and format the everything and start fresh with a new install of windows from the bios. Is fornatting from the bios the best way to clean everything off the hard drive " i mean everything!" completely clean drive. or what ?

I just bought a new game and when I tried to install the disc it wouldn't run. I went to 'run' and still I got nothing. My computer is a compaq presario and it's about 6 yrs old. Also the door to the cd drive just broke on me and now it won't close! If anybody knows the solution to my problem please respond back!!!

I want to build a PC and i want an AMD processor because its cheaper and better than intel ones, but i cant find the difference between theese two types of processors. Its supoused that a dual core processor its better than a on dual one, but the FX-70 processor its pricer, whats the deal?
Also is it worth to buy a :
Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (64-bit, 3.0GHz, 2MB total dedicated L2 cache, 2000MHz HyperTransport™ bus, socket AM2) for $464 than a:
Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (64-bit, 2.8GHz, 2MB total dedicated L2 cache, 2000MHz HyperTransport™ bus, socket AM2) for $326 ?
I mean is it worth the extra GHz?
And what does a socket AM2 mean? whats the diference with a socket f one?

I watched this somewhere years ago but haven't given it much thought since my computer sucked at that time but is it a good idea on a celeron 2.26 with just 256mb memory and is turned on almost 24/7

Would it yield more efficiency with the cooler system?

Summer's just around the corner and here where I live it gets really hot during summers

Is there anyone from the Philippines that have done this?

i m using pentium 4 pc ,i had 512 mb RAM and now i installed 512 MB RAM.in systems panel it is showing 1 GB RAM and the rest of the computer is working fine.but the cd and dvd drives icons r not showing.even when i insert the cd the light blinks but it doesn't play.what is wrong?i even checked the cable connections ,r all fixed.

i believe that most of the downloaded files are stored in the hard drive atleast thats what ive been told. there is so much that i downloaded from sites like ares and limewire...never burned copies.and dont want to have to redownload. can i connect both desktops with ethernet and open them up to file share?some one told me that too!

I have dsl and my computer is so slow.
I've deleted temp files, cache,tried the pc repair and I have done the defragmenting system scans, restored factory settings, Im lost at this point and could realy use some good advise on what it is that i should do to speed things up , before i throw this computer out the door !!!!! it is driving me crazy..... Im 41 and my grandma complained that this computer is just way too slow ! HELP-PLEASE

Two days ago my pc was running fine now it is taking forever for anything to happen. I have tried 'Disc Cleanup' but it has not made any difference. However I did notice during the cleanup proceedure that I have the following files; Compressed Files 2137649 KB, Temporary Files 333042 KB. What are these files and can I delete them without causing problems?

Hey Guys I am looking to buy a new computer which I basically use to watch DVDs, download and play mp3s, do all my internet banking, surfing the net, and some sports video games. I was looking at Gateway and they have one computer with the Pentium D915 and one with the Core 2 Duo E4300. The Core Duo computer is $120 more. Is it worth the extra money for what I am using the computer for?

I had to move the fan so i unplugged the internal power cords. I really need to know how to plug them in. They have numbers on them P3,P4,P5,P6,P7 and P8, I need to know how to plug them in
The way i plugged it in it started to smell. I need to plug it into the Hard Drive, CD, and a floppy disk drive. Thanks!

I have an emachines. It's about 4 years old. I've had it completely restored twice, the last time being 2 years ago. I have so many important documents, pictures, videos, and my iPod library currently on it and I don't think that I want to have it completely restored again. So is there any way that I can fix it without doing so? Do you know what might be wrong with it? I've kept trying to turn it on all today, earlier it made noises as if it were starting up but it never fully did. It also beeped at me just once. So, I let it sit, now when I press the button, it won't turn on or make any sounds at all; nothing happens. Everything is plugged in properly. I'm not sure what to do. Please help!

(PS, I'm on my other computer that I hardly use incase you were wondering..)
