I just bought a new game and when I tried to install the disc it wouldn't run. I went to 'run' and still I got nothing. My computer is a compaq presario and it's about 6 yrs old. Also the door to the cd drive just broke on me and now it won't close! If anybody knows the solution to my problem please respond back!!!

If the door is stuck, you may just have to take apart the CD drive, and manually relign it. Is it completely stuck?, see if you can manually move it back and forth, even a little. If so, you may be able to snap in back without having to take it apart. Try moving it out as far as it will go. I wouldnt recommend pushing it in further, as it may get jammed even worse. As far as not reading the disc, try to see if it will read any discs at all. If so, then that one disc is just weird like that ( it happens alot, CD's are weird). Well, that is if you can get the door un-stuck first.

your cd-rom drive sounds like it is dirty. use a cd laser lens cleaner on it. you can buy them at any box store,music shop or electronics store.

time to buy a new cd drive you can buy one for About $40 buy the all in one DVD /RW/ + & - computer is 6 years old go for new computer

Turn off your computer and reboot it up. Then take and use a can of airduster and blow it out.
