i have a compaq persario (SR1311NX) its a great computer but i wanted to upgrade it and i need some suddgestion, i already put more memory in but i like to play games, download music and videos, etc. but some stuff just won't work, i would like the computer to be fast, i'm going to get DSL HIGH SPEED, or CABLE, here soon. but wanted to know what else i could do for my desktop? thank you.

Well, it all depends on how much you want to spend. For about 250$ you can upgrade the motehrboard/video card and new memory for the motehrboard. for about another 80 bucks ya can throw in another hard drive. Right there ya have a brand new computer.

The hard drive is usually the slowest component in most computers, so upgrade to a SATA hard drive. The new video card answer was also a good idea for gamers.
You might might to price the cost of upgrading versus buying a new computer. The big box stores like Best Buy have some good deals whenever there's a holiday. St. Patrick's Day will soon be here. Also check www.dell.com they have some good deals as well.

Try a graphics card. It is a good first step if you don't have the money for a new mother board.
Ebay has Radeon 9250 Series for about $40 brand new. I just looked it up now.

A graphic card & lots of ram ll do the tric for gaming .
but if u ve more money talk to the vendor.
