Desktops - December 2006

I have this processor and 1Gb of DDR2 667. What would be the best speed to overclock this processor to?. I have it currently running at 2.88Ghz could i put it up to 3.5Ghz?.

I got this really old computer. The only thing that I know at the moment..It's a "AMD 900mhz"

Anyways, I tried turning it on, but windows wouldn't loud. That part doesn't worry me right now. The part that worries be about is that..
I accidently went to the settings, and I put "First load CD-ROM" and now my computer doesn't even turn on. What can I do!? HELP!

My hard drive seems to go mad with activity when I try ans access a program. I have defraged my drive, cleaned all redundant files and removed stuff I don't use any longer, but Opera takes upto 10 seconds to open. It especialy takes longer when I leave the pc for more than 10 mins unattended! What causes the hard drive to seek so much? What should I do? Many thanks people! :-)

i'm a gamer and i wan't to get a new processor what would be best for gameing the Intel Pentium 4 or the Intel Core 2 Duo. the way I see the Pentium 4 has more Processor speed and i think it's better than the Core 2 Duo. I wan't the best!!!

I have a PC that has become non-operative due to the fact that I have uninstall Norton anti-virus software with some of my programmes and I have not been able to boot up the PC as some programmes are missing. my mate gave me his computer to re-assemble i'm not 100% sure of what connects to what, however i have a good idea, so i went ahead and did it, i was just about to turn it on, but something stopped me and then i came here to make sure i'm not at risk of any potential hazards ie: electric shock. thanks

I have a cabel connection and am supposed to be able to watch vidios and stuff. But the damn thing is so old and has so many viruses I can't do anything! I am constantly getting kicked off of whatever I am doing. It's not even worth putting money into fixing it. I'm kinda broke so I am looking for something around $399 - $499, if that's possible. I do reserch and E-mail alot. And I save alot of pictures. I also love music so I'll probably be doing alot of downloading. I want to be able to watch vidio clips and play games too. And I want something fast. Please HELP! I hate this thing! I just want something reliable that I can afford. There is so much out there, I wouldn't know what to buy! Thanks so much!

im having a big headache here.. im planning to buy a pc.. here in the philippines there are a lot of surplus pcs available my budget is around P10000 (US$200).. im eyeing for a brand new sempron 2800,, a celeron 2.16ghz both have 256mb ram,, 40hdd and integrated sound a video card... another one is a really cheap pentium 3 650mhz... it was only for $130 around P7500 but the memry and hdd is a dismay.. the deal is it is complete with printer.. help guys
