Trying to put new Motherboard in an Emachine. I have tried to post with it out of the case..Nothing..no post, no beeps. I changed memory, no luck. I changed CPU, no luck. I'm using a BioStar P4M80-M4 motherboard.
The monitor is good...it works on another computer. The video is on-board, on-board Audio. I changed out the CMOS Battery in case it was dead. I cleared the CMOS, no luck. I've installed several motherboards and this is the first time I have had one that didn't even post or beep.
Any ideas.
thanks

Please answer all questions when answering:1.Is the eMac still available to buy, if so where? 2. Which ILife's work for it, since i believe it is a PowerPC, not OS X.

My computer has developed a mind of its own! I turn it off and it turns itself back on!!! This happens about 4-5 times in a row, then it remains off...sometimes!!! then in the middle of the night it turns itself on again. That's when I disconnect the power.
Has someone sent a virus or something that has changed its operating system. Is it a bios problem? or a hardware malfunction. The computer works okay otherwise, although I have had it shut off once or twice on its own? I am fairly knowledgeable about computers but not hardware savvy.

My G4 Power Mac was working fine. Then I moved it to a new office location across town. When I set it up it again, it would not start. Keyboard start key does nothing, power key on the tower lights up when held, but does nothing and goes out wheh released. No previous problems of any kind with this Mac...software or hardware...

It is running on XP and I have already checked out the power options to make sure that is not what is causing the problem. However, it is not on a UPS. Is that the problem?

This is a Compaq desktop. At this point the only indication that it is even an electronic device is a little light blinking way on the back ofthe tower. Tried plugging it in to a spot on the strip that we know works..still nothing. Any ideas how this can be fixed?..or am I now the proud owner of a very unattractive paperweight.

I have a
AMD sempron 2600
asrock K7S41GX motherboard,
256 megs of ram
480 watt power supply.

Now I've taken the ram and power supply to the computer store and they tested them both as fine. I've also tried replacing my cmos battery, reflashing bios, and resetting cmos, but I still get this error.

The problems that I'm having with the computer is many times it won't boot at all, not even to bios. I have to turn it on and off many times before the one lucky time that it will boot to bios. And if it does get that far, it nearly always crashes somewhere along the line of booting up windows. There was about 2 times that I luckily did get windows to boot up, and it worked fine for a little while but was short lived because it crashed.

I'm running out of ideas, I'm guessing the processor or motherboard may have gone bad, but I don't want to go replacing good parts. Can anyone help?

I plan to update my workstation. I have four "RAM" slots on my motherboard. 2 of which have been occupied by a pair of 64MB PC800 RDRAM. Should I just use a stick of 512MB in the 3rd slot and leave the 4th slot empty or should I insert a blank RDRAM (aka CRIMM) to fill the 4th slot? Im not sure which combination works but I heard that RDRAM should be used in pairs. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
