I have tried putting them on disc, but it just keeps telling me to load a disc when there is already one there. i have tried a floppy disc but that tells me that it is not formatted, although on the outside it says it is formatted. I dont want to lose them as they are holiday photographs, would love some advice if possible.

I've heard of, and personally experience, 'memory inflation'. That is, closing programs and windows doesn't seem to make it completely give up it's memory load. A little of it here and there and after like 30 hours of computer use you have double the slowness while running the exact same things. Eventually **** will break and something will crash. Too bad, now you must restart you computer.

Now if this is true then getting a memory upgrade will only postpone the inevitable right?, that is the computer will run out of memory even if you keep the number of programs down to a reasonable level.

This is not just my imagination, I've restarted it at 430 MB, done stuff with it, used it, gone on the Internet, run programs etc and then two weeks later it's 900 MB with absolutely nothing on. Completely blank taskbar.

I removed the main partition on a hp 753n computer and reinstalled windows xp. when i reboot, i get a boot disk error and i have to use the windows source cd to boot the computer. is there any way to fix this? Also, i still have the hp recovery partition, but the hp recovery application is not on my hard drive to boot the recovery partition. How do i access the recovery partition so i can start over with all the original factory settings and applications? If i do this, will it also fix my boot disk error? Or could anyone help me out with the hp pavilion 753n recovery cd's? I have tried buying so called "recovery cd's" only to get ripped off.

I'm almost finished installing a motherboard, but I'm having trouble figuring out the proper way to install the small connectors for things such as the power button, hdd light, reset button, etc. I can read the blueprints in the manual to find "where" to plug them into, but I can't figure out if I'm plugging them in the correct way, or if they are backwards. I can see that the little plastic pieces usually have a little triangle indicator on one side, but I don't know what it means.

In the manual it referrs to the pins in terms like "high reference pull-up" or "low reference pull-down".

Or in the example of the Hdd light, It lists one of the pins as "hard disk LED pull-up" with the signal going to it as HD_LED_P, and the other pin is listed as "Hard disk active LED" with a HD_LED_N signal going to it. The little plastic connector has a triangle on one side, but how do I know which direction to plug it in?

I'd like to know what the triangle indicates, and the other terms too.

Building a new machine for high graphics and the jury seems to still be out on the advantages of Sli as opposed to just spending the extra $ on a better single card. Seems to be no common concensus on the matter. Your opinion?

Does any one know what is a good PC for games. Like The Sims 2 and other games. That would run very good and would last long. and you can install a lot of games. To were it does not run very slow or pause. DeskTops only.

My windows crashed yesturday, and i had to reformat. Windows would boot, but once it booted fully i couldn't do anything and had a constant hour glass symbol. Tried to restore, but the same thing was happening even if i went back 2 months. Now, when i start it up, its extremely quiet. Usually i can hear it, kind of sounds like a mini jet engine, but nothing now. I looked in the back and both fans are still running. Everything seems fine, just..............doesn't sound normal, if you understand what i mean, lol. What could be the problem?
