i wanna know which one is better?; it seems that AMD Athlon's are better than Intel according to reviews and test on Cnet. But i wanna know which one is more reliable/durable; cuz i hear AMD processors dying, burning, crashing, incompatibility issues etc which makes me feel that maybe AMD is not as reliable as Intel even though technichal performance is better...

So ppl, tell me ur opinion and from ur experiance...
Thanks

I am a novice when it comes to upgrading computers. I have opened up my desktop and there are two memory slots. One is filled with a 256mB Kingston ValueRAM (KVR333X64C25/256, 2.5V) and the other is empty.

I would like to upgrade my RAM. Should I just buy another 256mB of the same type or is it OK to order a different brand? I would ideally like to order from Maplin as I'm about to order a hard disk from them also and it would save on postage.

And is 512mB total even enough? Should I scrap the 256mB and buy two 512mB? I don't play games on the PC - but listen to music and watch streamlng video online.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

i got a $130 gift card to walmart, and i was wondering if i should get a XFI system for use in BF2, BF2142, ghost recon, and a lot of my newer games, i was also wondering if it makes a large impact on the game performance, i got an AMD 3000+ socket A processor, 2.1 GHz, 1.5 gigs of ram, an ATI X800 sapphire GTO with 256 MB of ram, its AGP 8x, my motherboard is stock with from what i can tell, a VIA chipset, at least a lot of the larger chips on the board have VIA on them. it has onboard 5.1 and im using it up to the max with my logitech x530 sound system. i also have a SATA hard drive, and 3 PCI slots, not PCIe. im running pc3200 ram but the mainboard is set to pc2700, or atleast thats what shipped with the computer.
