in startup i found 2 option microsoft windows and microsoft windows (default) how to remove second option. and start computer using default mode. can i delete boot.ini file

I received an eMachines T6544 PC for Christmas, and I'm wondering if I should keep it or exchange it for something better. It's replacing a Dell (ack!) Dimension desktop with Windows XP Home Edition only 254MB of RAM, a bad integrated 64MB Intel video card, 37GB of hard drive space, and a 2.4GHz Celeron processor. The eMachines is superior in every way except for the processor speed. The eMachines has a whopping 250GB of hard drive space, an NVIDIA GeForce 6100, DVD+RW drive, a gigabyte of RAM, and runs on the Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system (which I want). The only thing I'm worried about is that the eMachines has AMD Athlon 64 processor that runs only 2.2GHz. I have another Dell that's newer and is superior to the one mentioned earlier, and it is inferior to the eMachines except for its Pentium 4 2.8GHz processor. I'm primarily using games like The Movies, BF2142, and I'm just worried that the eM's processor is going to have a significant effect on their performance.

I have an eMachine T2825 that is having some serious issues. When I hit the power button, all that happens is the procesor fan gives a slight twitch of maybe half a turn, then stops, and the blue light on the front remains lit. I dont hear the hard drive kicking in or anything. On top of this, the PC cant be turned off, i hit the power button with absolutely no effect, I have to unplug it to turn it off. I know a decent amount about computers, but this one has me puzzled. Im fairly certain it's a hardware issue, but im not sure what. Any thoughts?

what do I need to do in order to be able to surf the net and watch TV at the same time. It seems that I dont have and option. Is either one thing or the other. Also when when I am watchint tv and go for the internet I can navegate the net and hear the TV but it does not show the tv image. I have PIP in the computer I dont know if this additional info helps. Thanks

I just purchased a Dell Dimension E521 AMD 64 X2 3800+ 512MB PC.

It was advertised as having 3.8 Ghz. Now, when I go to "View system information", it shows:

Dell Dimension DIME521
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 4200+
2.20Ghz (this number changes - it was 900-something before)
448MB of RAM
Physical Address Extension

Is there something wrong or am I wrong on something?

I have abit A17 motherboard. for my understanding it will take 4 memory sticks DIMM/dual channel DDR 400,333 and or 266Mhz. I have 4- 266mhz instaled and I want to replace it with 2-2 gb 400mhz. If any one of you have done that please tell me how it is working. I am intaling a 800mhz 3.0 cpu so it is all speed.

I am ready to purchase a new computer. The only thing I need it for is to surf the web, pay bills online, play music, and do some school work. i have converted the avi video file to dvd. then tried using the vso program to burn. but it didnt work. put in my dvd player and it wouldnt read. tried burning using nero, still wouldnt work. Whats is wrong? can someone t3each me how or show me where i might be able to get a tutorial? thanks for the help
