I want to start a blog but my PC is not up to the task.

Can I start a weblog on my system or do I need to upgrade my hardware to blog?? Thanks!!!!!

Yes, your system is much more powerful than necessary. However, does your broadband provider allow you to host web sites on their systems? In addition, if your blog becomes very popular, 6 mbps might not be fast enough for people to access the blog, especially if there is a lot of multimedia content.

Um, a keyboard and an internet connection is all you need.

Even if you are planning on setting up a Server and hosting the website yourself (which would be totally pointless for just ablogsite, as you can do better on so many free blog hosts), you could do that with ANY old computer. Your PC is definetly up to the task.

To blog (on something like Xanga or Blogspot) all you need is a computer that has INTERNET (which you obviously have). Most weblogs require you to type your blogs on the website, or to upload it. It doesn't involve any hardcore computer tasks.

There is no minimum requirement for starting a blog. Just write your blog. I think you have other issues and are trying to get people to respond to your blog before you put it out. Very cunning! Kudos!
