How do you know in general? Also my desktop that I bought came with a NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE. Is that better than this other i have ? check the link

My computer I am on now is really slow 666mhz processor, 186 memory and really crappy motherboard with hardware glitches. I got it in like 97 anyway.

Well I know the cheapest way to get a new computer is build it yourself. I went into compUSA yesterday and im kinda excited about it. I dont want to pay someone else to build it for me.

What things do I need to buy if I want to build a very fast computer with ok graphics. I dont want a gaming computer, but I definitely want a fast processor and huge harddrive.

What should I do first?

my computer had 256mb ddr ram...and i upgraded it to 640mb ram..yet my comuter works slowly..i think just like the effect of a 256mb ram...what do i do..i installed norton 2006 in my pc..is it slowing my computer..but still 640mb can withstand norton processes i guess...anyway iam thinking of installing avg free edition instead of norton..do u think its wise to do that..will the protection level come down..or is there any step left to do if we increase ram..please suggest a way

I have a dell. Not sure of the model but it is soooo slow. It's really making me upset. I was wondering if I use the Operating System Reinstillation CD Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition for Dell-if it would help it get faster and just make the computer overall better.

Yes-I have done Disk Cleanups so don't ask lol. And I've done alot of System Restores too. And I have gone through everything on my computer and deleted anything not needed. And I havent even used up half of my memory so it isnt that.

my computer cannot detect any devices such as pen-drive , MP3 , or game controller . I already install the driver , but useless . When I plug in the device , it call me to install the driver , after installed , it doesn't function . When plug in pen-drive , it totally no function . When I go in the device manager , it show on ( ?pendrive)
I don't know what the meaning with the quention mark . Thank for yours help .

I was using my computer the other day and it froze up so I tried to reset it but it wouldn't so I unplugged it and it will not power back on now at all. I checked my surge protector I even plugged it straight into the wall and still nothing. The green light on the back of the power supply was blinking so I pulled the power supply out and tried another one fromm a different computer but still no go. When I unhook the supply from my board the light will go to a solid green and when I start to plug it back into the board the fans will kick on and off but when I plug it all the way in nothing works and the light goes back to blinking. Is my mother board more than likely shot? I am going to try the HP troubleshooting on the power supply but I don't see that helping. Any advice would be appreciated.

My cd rom drive was left open and I accidentally got my sweatpants caught unto it and it pulled it out of place. I pressed the "open/close" button and it wouldnt close so I pushed it back closed. Now when I hit the "open/close" button, the light blinks as if its about to open, but its jammed shut. I tried the sticking a pin to the small hole trick but that didnt work. Is my computer permantly damaged????

The drive is a secondary drive. It is a seagate 120 GB.

Okay so I have been having problems with this drive off and on for a few months. My computer would sometimes freeze when I accessed the drive or when I shut down.

I've had it for about 7 months or so. No problems the first few months. Recently the drive is not even showing when I go to my computer. I've pretty much accepted at this point that I'm not going to be able to get back what was on there. Fortunately most of my important stuff was on my C drive.

I'm no expert but fidgeting around I was able to get it to at least show when I go to My Computer. However, I can't get inside and when I try to format it seems to be taking forever. I think this thing is done. Any advice?

ok, i've "supposedly" converted the movie into a DVD format but everytime i want to burn it, it says that there is no disk. i put a DVD-R disk but it's not working. can't i use this disk? plz i need help!!!! idk how many times i've converted it & it doesnt work!!!! thxs =]
