The tech support told me it will take up to a 4600+ cpu AMD makes up to a 4000+ right now which would give me a 32% increase over my current 3000+. Im just wondering which FX processors would I be safe with I cant use dual core only up to a 3800 X2 would that be combined core speed of 1900 each core? I have been deliberating over this for a while and I realy dont want to get a new board. please help.

First off, use punctuation, your question is almost impossible to decipher.

Second, AMD uses a PR (performance rating) system, the 4000 and 3800 etc are relative numbers for comparision, they don't necessarily match up to clock speed (Ghz). This isn't a bad thing at all, AMD processors are MUCH more efficient than Pentium 4s, a 2Ghz AMD processor is more than a match for a 3Ghz Pentium 4.

Third, edit in a model number, either of the computer that the motherboard is in, or the motherboard itself. Until we know the model number there isn't much we can do to help you.

(If you don't know the model number, and can't find a number on your case, just take off the side panel of the case and look around on the motherboard itself. There is always a model number of some kind, usually in bold letters near the center of the board. Just don't touch anything inside, and make sure your warranty (if you have one) won't be voided by opening it.)
