Unless you make sure you keep your processes in line and aplications your computer will crash. There is nothing worng with it. Simply put computers arn't design to be on 24/7. Due to the programs you use, and over time it will crash, it might be a non responsive aplication or a blue screen. But when you boot it back up it will be fine.

Alot in wear and tear on the fans and hard disk. It would get very dusty in there. and the eletric bill would be higher. I seen where people leave their pc on and the power supply finally failed and blew smoke from the fan. Possibly ruining the motherboard and other parts. And the computer will also be unstable like other people said. But running a computer at Idle and Full tilt also vary on power usage. it would be like running a microwave oven on defrost mode 24/7..

You dont have to turn it off every night if you dont want to. It would be good to turn it off everyonce in a while if you are not always gonna shut it off. Personal computers are mostly not equipped to be ALWAYS on because things do get heated up in it and if you dont have enough fans to keep it cool then the cpu or memory could get messed up. You can shut it off every once in a while if you want, just to cool it off.

I hope that helps you.
